Proverbs and thought (Morals and justice) "Whoever accepts a present, sells his freedom dearly." Hungarian proverb For many years I worked for the government and I was bound by a code of ethics that prohibited accepting presents. I then went on to work for a large multinational corporation that boasts a presence almost everywhere on the planet. Likewise, they too set among their code of ethics guidelines for accepting gifts. In any case, the Hungarian saying exposes the moral obligation one assumes when accepting a present. There is nothing wrong with receiving a present, as long as it does not compromise one's good judgment in the exercise of one's duties. Even if you freely exercise a profession, you should be careful about the intention behind the present. Freedom of choice is priceless, Although there are those who sell it for next to nothing. #proverbs #thought #wisdom #gift Good evening to all from South America. Read you tomorrow, God willing.
