Do You Believe In Ghost?

"An obsession that leads to a horrifying death"

Mike was a surgeon at one of the most well-known hospitals in Manila. He studied medicine because of his mom, who was also admitted to the hospital he works at. The hospital has served as his home as well, ever since his mom was admitted for seven years. 

He doesn't often go out with his coworkers and doesn't even have time to find a lover because his face will always be with his mom and his other patients. It's always been his priority before anything else. Mike has this best friend named Joe, who is his workmate and is also a surgeon. When it comes to interacting with other people, Joe is the complete opposite of Mike. Joe was at the top of their class during their college days and was also the campus heartthrob, so we can totally say that he already had everything a girl could dream about.

Joe was the one who always encouraged Mike to go out and find a lover and enjoy life. He also loves to play pranks on Mike, especially horror and scary pranks. Mike was the type of guy who didn't believe in ghosts or anything supernatural. He always believed that everything had scientific reasons and answers and that ghosts weren't real. But little did he know, his best friend Joe had a surprise in store for him.

A gust of cold air blew past them."Did you felt it?" Joe asked Mike, with a little excitement written on his face. "We're standing right in a vending machine, so we expect that it'll be cold, " answered Mike with an uninterested face. Joe insisted that it wasn't a normal wind because he was getting goosebumps all over his body. All of a sudden, a figure of a human appeared a few meters away from them. Its body was all burnt to crisps, and Joe then remembered that it was the dead body from the morgue that had just arrived in the morning. Joe then slowly went towards the body where it was standing. Mike tried to stop him but failed. 

Mike took his phone out and started taking a video. Much to his surprise, there was no one on the video, but they could clearly see the ghost right in front of them. As they slowly approach the body with their trembling knees, it suddenly moves and looks at them, making them frightened and falling to the ground. Joe then laughs and tells Mike that the ghosts are real. Joe believed that Mike also saw the same thing as what he saw earlier. 

The next morning, they talked about what they had seen that night. Mike showed Joe the video he took that night, and there was no one except them. They also looked at the CCTV camera and all they saw was the two of them and no one else. Joe then looks at Mike with a grin and excitement written on his face. "I want to show you something," Joe stated as he led Mike to a certain place. 

With a confused face, Mike asked Joe why they were in an old building. It was an old and abandoned nurse station that was at the back of the new building. Dust was everywhere, and everything was a mess. They arrived in a room with two flipped white boards and a blackboard. There was something written on all of the boards that made Mike even more confused. Joe has been doing research about ghosts ever since they were in college, all by himself. His obsession with ghosts made him travel to different haunted places, such as the haunted house in Korea and the suicide forest in Japan. He's been to many haunted places all over the world, but out of all those places he's been to, there was no paranormal activity.

That is why he chose the old building as his research in the hope of encountering a ghost, but after many years of staying in that building, he still hadn't encountered a single one. His first encounter with a ghost was with his father, and right after that incident, it made him want to study if ghosts really exist.
