A birthday letter to my father **July 1, 2022** *Dad,* *You know I can't start with "dear" dad, because you didn't teach me to be sweet-talking. “Dear” is such a small word to convey how dear you are to me. That is why I started with a simple “dad”.* *I miss that word - dad. I lost the opportunity to say it and I didn't know that some opportunities we lose forever. But I would be the happiest if I could say "dad" again and then hear your voice. Many times during the day I…

Yesterday I made my grandmother's cherry cake, one of my favorites. I learned from her that cakes don't have to be too much sweet to be good. I like the sour taste but I also like the sweet taste. I realize that my real pleasure is sour sweetness. Sweet cake with sour cherries. I never knew to make it like my grandmother but I think that I do it quite well. 😊 Here is the recipe... https://ecency.com/hive-120586/@jelenaa/my-grandmothers-cherry-cake

Ancient Egypt Adventure Weekend Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great weekend. This weekend my son and I visited an interactive ancient Egypt exhibit at a city mall. When my son entered, they put on him a pharaonic suit. 😊 Although he is only 5 years old, he already knows a lot about ancient Egypt and this weekend experience made him very excited. A workshop was organized where the children had the opportunity to meet hieroglyphs, mummies, the sphinx, and many other…

My first mini pizzas Hello everyone. These days I have become the personal baker of my five-year-old son and his friends. 😊 Every evening while they are playing in front of the building, I make some food for them. I usually make pastries that I throw to them from the terrace and they catch them with great joy. So, every evening I have a new challenge of what to prepare for them. I enjoy making pastries and I also like to eat them, so the pleasure is mutual, both the…

These days I have become the personal baker of my five-year-old son and his friends. 😊 Every evening while they are playing in front of the building, I make some food for them. Although I often make pizza, it never occurred to me to make mini pizzas until now. It is true when they say that children are our greatest inspiration. 😊 I didn't have a lot of time so these quick and easy pizza bites were a perfect choice. I came up with the recipe while I was making it, I wasn't…

CBD oil - health benefits Hello wonderful readers and writers. How are you? Do you manage to cope with everyday stress? It's not easy sometimes. Stress hits us when we least expect it, and sometimes we don't expect it at all. Sometimes it's there and we don't even notice it but we feel that something takes away our energy, makes us cry, shout, frown, and get sick. When they told me that there is something natural that has an incredible effect on reducing or even eliminating…

Welcome to my hometown Hello everyone, some time ago I participated in a contest on Hive with an interesting topic: **"If we were to visit you, what is the one "must-do" in your hometown? Would it be something to eat, a place to visit, a person to meet, or something else?"** I was very inspired to write about it so I will be happy to share my writing with you and host you in my hometown. Welcome to Belgrade! My son and I are ready to host you. 😊 *"Whoever was lucky enough to…

Weekend visit to Kalemegdan, Belgrade park and fortress There are some places that we visit again and again and we do not stop admiring them, as if we see them for the first time. One of such places is Kalemegdan. A place of fond memories for me from my childhood when I walked there with my parents until today when my children walk with me. Kalemegdan is the most famous park in Belgrade. It is known for the Belgrade fortress, located above the confluence of the Sava and…

Lepenski Vir, a Mesolithic archeological site in Serbia There is something special about visiting archeological sites. I am fascinated by the remnants of the past that allow us to learn about living thousands of years ago. I always feel special in such places, curiously absorbing all the information. I pay attention to every archeological find and admire human abilities to discover the world from the past, for a long time ago. One of the most important archeological sites in…

Evening walk through Budapest Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great today. Do you like evening walks? I do. When I travel, my greatest pleasure is to walk around the city in the evening. One of my most beautiful evening walks was in Budapest, a few years ago. Budapest reminds me of Belgrade, where I live, because of the Danube River, but also because of the liveliness of the city at night. I don’t like the feeling when something goes off when it stops. I like when…

A visit to Ljubljana, Slovenia When I visited Ljubljana, the capital and the largest city in Slovenia, my first impression was the stunning architecture through which different historical periods can be felt. I saw a lot of beautiful buildings, in different colors, with different ornaments which delighted me. Also, I liked the bridges very much. There are many bridges in Ljubljana over the river Ljubljanica that flows through the city. I especially liked the Dragon Bridge, a…

Logar Valley, Slovenia I don't know what the entrance to paradise looks like, but if that place exists, I think it must be like Logar Valley in Slovenia. I imagine it that way. Logar Valley is a special place that is difficult to describe in words. It's a place you have to feel. When you find yourself there, you are no longer interested in technology, or maps, whether you are on the right way or not, it does not matter because you are guided by your senses. Logar Valley is…

A visit to Slovenian lakes, Bled and Bohinj When it comes to touring Slovenia, I have to mention the beautiful lakes I visited a few years ago. Lake Bohinj is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen, although the beauty of the popular Lake Bled is undeniable. Bohinj is a natural lake surrounded by stunning nature, at the foot of Triglav and within the eponymous national park. This lake is perfect for activities such as swimming, diving, rowing, and sailing. Visitors can…

A visit to Trieste, Italy When I was in Slovenia, I could not miss the chance to visit Trieste in Italy, which is only 20 kilometers away from the Slovenian town of Koper. This wasn't my first visit to Trieste. When I was a child, shopping tours from my country to this city were often organized and I visited this city several times with my parents, but I only remember shopping malls. Now I have visited Trieste with different interests. Although I love shopping so much this…

First time in a submarine with my son There is always a first time many times for many things in life. Curiosity leads us to new experiences, and new experiences make our life meaningful. Being a mother, among other things, means living a life open to new experiences and challenges to make your children's childhood interesting and your life more fulfilling. During my vacation last week in the beautiful Croatian town Poreč, my son invited me to go sailing on a submarine. I…
