I have mentioned in one of my replies to the comment in my article about when I was a kid that we experienced eating rice with soy sauce and oil because we can't afford to buy more decent viand. But do you know that some expensive Chinese buffet restaurants are serving this kind of rice? Yes you read it right. It was last 2017 when we went to a buffet restaurant and I requested for a rice. But I was surprised when I saw bottles of soy sauce and oil on the table. Then the chinese girl told me that I need to mix them with the rice..that's when I remember this Filipino food of ours.
