I got this idea from @Charlotte comment on my post.
SIMILARITIES...
The fact or state of being similar or alike.
Things in this world have differences but shared some similarities. The square and rectangle are different in shape but both have four angles, and that is their similarities. The left and right shoes are different in shape, but similar in usage and both are for the feet. The candle and lamp are different in shape and appearance, but both give out a similar element, and that is light.
People in different parts of the world have differences - in cultures, traditions, languages, colors, attributes, nationalities - but have similarities in some perceptions, views, aspects in life, and actions. We think we eat, we walk, we talk, we love, we get hurt, we live, and we die.
And we come and go in someone's life at any time.
"People come and go, but lessons remain "
There are billion of people in this world, but only a few are destined to take their full journey with us in life. And on the crowd with tons of differences, we would probably feel so lucky if we bump into our match. Although I don't believe in soulmate stuff, other's match does cross on people's paths. No one is tailor-made for us, and we aren't made tailored for anyone either.
But isn't it fun when both of you shared similarities? The same age, the same perspectives, the same favorites, the same characteristics. You watched the same movie, you listen to the same music, you eat the same food, you drink the same tea, and you love to go to the same place. You are almost like a twin, a fraternal twin.
Is that what they call 'soul mate', people who are meant to meet with similarities? Your match? Your bully? Your best friend? You feel comfortable with each other and accepting one's flaws. You aren't a couple but people think you are. You vouched to be friends forever to avoid getting hurt. But the feeling grows and one day the other one wanted more.
He wanted to be more than friends. And you feel confounded by your feeling.
You feel safe when someone is walking beside you. You feel happy when someone makes you smile despite your intricate mind. You feel happy when someone accepts your flaws and loves you for who you are. You feel happy when being with your twin, twin not by blood, but by personality.
And you want to remain that feeling forever and keep him forever. However, he wants to go in the opposite direction, and you become confused about whether to go with him or not. You want to keep him, but not in that way. Because you know that once the status change, everything will change as well. And you don't want it to happen.
But then things are meant to happen, just like how both of you cross each other's paths. And the only constant in this world is change. The similarities become differences. The twin split up and not a twin anymore.
You watch different movies, you listen to different music, you eat different food, you drink different tea, and you go to different places. Until both become fed up with each other's flaws, relationships become dull, perspectives become criticism, and both parted and go in different directions.
He saved you from being stuck in the mud of sadness from your painful breakup with your past, why can't you give your heart to him? And so he decided to let go.
He left, but lessons remained...
But as he left, you have realized his worth, but it's too late. It's too late as he sailed away to the farthest land. A place where he moved on and forgot about your past. A place where he found his new happiness. Then you got so many what-ifs in your mind. What if you have accepted his love? Maybe you are both happier together. Maybe the feeling will grow fonder. Maybe the string will be knotted to keep you both forever.
But regrets happen in the end, and the flow of water that has passed won't pass again. Let bygones be bygones. But keep the treasure of lessons in your chest.
The similarities...
People have differences, but one thing is similar, we grow, we change - physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually. We live, we fall in love, we get hurt, we get sick, we face challenges, we die, and we won't remain on someone's side forever, because we always come and go. But at the end of the day, at the end of every challenges, at the end of every pain, some things always remains - the lessons, and their memories.

So true. People come and go... it reminds me of a popular phrase made by a former boss... she would always say "soldier go, soldier come" if you leave my job others would come.
The long and short news is just that we should make our impact felt irrespective of the little time we spend in a place.
