Photo Challenge Accepted: Rummaging Through The Gallery
January 16, 2022
I was summoned by Prof. Kudo to participate in his latest prompt where we need to be a little bit visual. But I guess I've been doing this for quite a long time now as my articles are more on personal blogs with personal photos, lol. The prompt is about Gallery Raid and from the title itself you could tell what it is about, so no need for further explanation. But there are categories that you need to choose, which you could find at the end of this article.
First of all, I have to rummage through my old phone's gallery to collect photos that fit in the categories. While collecting those photos, they brought back the good old days that are indelible. And even if years and decades have passed, they remain in my mind. We have millions of memories from the past to the present, but only a few remain unforgettable. And behind every photo we have in our gallery are different stories. Some are memories like a sieve that we rather bury in oblivion, while some are elusive and foggy. And most of them were forgotten.
So let's start this trip down memory lane and lay out these photos I rummaged from my old to new phone.
Oldest Photo On Your Phone
From the resolution of the photo, you could tell that this was taken more than a decade ago, haha, almost two decades I should say. This was our class photo after presenting a fairy tale story for Buwan ng Wika or National Language Month. That guy in the blue shirt was our teacher and he's been my English teacher from the First to the Fourth year. He would sometimes teach a Filipino subject too. He liked fairy tale stories and he would always require us to present one in our class then the chosen one will be presented in special events like Buwan ng Wika.
Ever since I was young, I don't like presenting in front of a crowd even just inside our classroom because my heart would always throb so fast and loud that sometimes it makes my body tremble, especially the mouth when speaking. So I would rather be one of the prop makers than one of the stage presenters. I even hated class oral recitations, lol.
Going back to the photo, we successfully presented the story and received loud applause from the audience and teachers.
Anyone who could guess where I am in the photo will receive a decent upvote, haha.

Latest Photo On Your Gallery
Sorry to spoil you but this was taken this afternoon, haha. I just tried the jacket I bought for only $3, the one I posted on noise. cash. And I guess it perfectly suits my scarf and my long shirt. This was taken at the park near Thai Village that I visited today. I might post about it some other day.
A Photo You Have No Idea What It Is About
While scanning my photos for this category, I saw this unfamiliar one and I literally have no idea what it is. But it looks pretty, isn't it? This might be one of my accidental shots while riding in a fast-pacing car. As I looked at it intently, it's like a photo of one of the skyscrapers here in HK. A beautiful imperfect shot.
The Worst Photo
This should have been a great photo if the photographer did it well, haha. The background is perfect but I was like fading there. So this was perhaps the worst photo of me on my phone. This was taken by the way at Disneyland by the Indonesian writer I met. And that I told myself that I should teach her how to take great photos next time, lol.
A Selfie/Groupie
I have a lot of selfies but only a few groupies. I chose this one as I missed this group so much. It's been a long time since we all went out together. We were all HK newbies that landed here in 2017. I met the first two in the photo in Manila while job hunting, the third one is a friend of the first lady in the photo and it was her first time to join our HK Buddies. During our first year here, our weekends were most spent roaming around and exploring every beautiful tourist spot of HK. But in the second year, we all had different timetables and holiday schedules. So we seldom see each other as a group. And two of them are also working even on special holidays, while one is already in the Philippines and having a hard time getting back here due to these COVID strict protocols. I hope we'll meet as a group again before I go back home.
The Best Photo
I believe I have a lot of best photos, haha, but this one is stunning. The view, the angle, the pose 🙈, they're all perfect. And I am certain that you have seen this photo many times, lol. This was my very first hike here in HK at the Dragon's Back Mountain. This was also the rocky platform where my new phone fell and broke its LCD, haha. I chose this one as I had a lot of beautiful memories during this hike.
A Photo Of Food You Want To Eat Again
Aigoo. I missed eating in this hotpot restaurant. This is the place I wanted to visit before I go back home. It's a hotpot restaurant where you can eat all you can for an hour and a half. From hotpot food to desserts and drinks, they all have them there.
A Place You Have Been That You Want To Visit Again
Virgin Island Cebu, a place I want to visit again. This was my first time doing island hopping with my co-workers and I wanted to experience it again and explore more islands of Cebu. Who doesn't want to revisit this stunning island anyway? I even want to stay for a night there. I hope I could do that in the future.
A Photo Of Someone You Admire
He's not so handsome but I admired him before. He's my coworker in my first job. A Filipino-Chinese man and a friend of mine. I don't know why I admire him, I just feel comfortable and smile every time I see him, haha. He's Ken on noisecash but not active anymore.
Beach/Resort/Getaway Photo
This was taken on Bantayan Island Cebu during our company anniversary with my co-workers. I also missed these ladies who have the same interests as mine, that's why we easily get along.
Funniest Photo
I look abnormal here so I'll consider these as the funniest photos, haha. I was bored that day and so I opted to take wacky selfies just to kill my boredom. That's what I usually do when I'm alone and bored at home, doing random funny or crazy stuff, lol.
Most Memorable Photo
The last category was the most memorable photo but I can't think of a most memorable one so I just used this photo during our college JS Prom. I'll consider a photo most memorable if something unforgettable and special happened there. Unexpectedly. that night, one of the hotel workers that catered our food was my high school crush, haha. And I got a chance to take a photo with him but I can't find it, huhu. I guess it's on my laptop and I only have this one because I saved this on my phone long ago.
So that's all folks. And I have to rush this as I was busy the whole afternoon today. If you wanna join this challenge, you can check these categories and start collecting your photos now.
