Narrated Amir al-Mu'minin Abu Bakr Siddiq: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever recites Bismillaahir Rahmanir Raheem, Allaah will record ten thousand virtues in his name, forgive ten thousand sins, and his dignity. Upgraded to ten thousand levels.

There is another hadith: When a person recites Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, Satan melts in the same way as lead melts in fire.
