Assalamu alaikum everyone. Hope you all are fine. I'm also good. Today I'm going to talk about "Cell", mainly animal cell. Cell: Cell is the structural and functional unit of all living system.

Types: 2 types- Prokaryotic cell: lack of nuclear membrane. This type of cells are found in bacteria. Eukaryotic cell: have a distinct nucleus surrounded by a nuclear membrane.

Parts of a cell: 2 basic parts- 1.Cytoplasm 2.Nucleus Outermost covered by cell membrane.

Shape: Varies may be flattened, cubical, columnar, fusiform, stellate, pyramidal and so on. Size: varies from about 5 to 50 micrometer. A mature ovum is one of the largest cells, measuring about 130 micrometer. Cell membrane: Outer limit of the cell is known as cell or plasma membrane.

Function of cell membrane: Act as physical barrier to enclose cell contents. Maintains communication between cell. Regulates material movement into and out of the cell. Cytoplasm: Contents of cells between the plasma membrane and nuclear envelope. It has two parts- cytosol and organelles.

Function of cytoplasm: Provides support for organelles. Serves as the viscous fluid medium through which diffusion occurs. Carry out specific metabolic activities of the cell. Nucleus: Containing the code for all of a cells enzymes and other proteins, the nucleus is the command center of the cell.

Components: consists of- Nuclear envelope Chromatin Nucleolus Nucleoplasm. Function: Contains DNA. Thanks for reading. Next time I will share something new. Allah Hafiz.
