Heart

Assalamu alaikum everyone.. Hope you all are fine. Today I am writing about one of the major organ of our body, "Heart"..

Location: The heart is a hollow, conical muscular organ, situated in the middle mediastinum slightly left to the median plane of chest and covered by pericardium.

Chambers:It has four chambers- right and left atria and right and left ventricles. The atria are separated from each other by interatrial septum and the ventricles are by interventricular septum.

Blood circulation: Right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from superior and inferior Vena Cava. Then it sends blood to the right ventricle.. Right ventricle pumps the blood to the pulmonary artery which opens into the lungs. Left atrium receives oygenated blood from pulmonary veins, which is send to the left ventricle. From there, blood goes to the Aorta and then to the whole body.

Diseases: There are many diseases of heart. Myocardial infarction Angina pectoris Cardiac arrhythmias Atrial and ventricular fibrillation Atherosclerosis Coronary heart disease and many more.
