What I know about Poetry

From the dawn of time, man has made poetry and listened to it. It is one of the most important things he can do, for it is through his poetic power that he advances and moves within his world. Poetry discovers a new world within the known world. Man, and the animals, and the flowers, all live within this strange and forever moving chaos. In the first place, a poem is a thing, a pattern that marks in the space of the page. It is made up of letters, and words and sentences arranged in lines and of lines in stanzas.
