Have Troubled Sleeping? Read This.

Well, actually I am having troubled in sleeping for almost three months already. Since I can't fall asleep and prevent myself from thinking some negative thoughts and my "what if's", I make time passed by watching movies or kdramas in Netflix, until I find myself asleep in I don't know what time.

Reasons?

I don't know... Or maybe I know but I just can't say it myself. I've been thinking alot lately. Wondering and wandering my thoughts from nowhere.

Anyway, this article isn't about me, but partly I came up with this article because of it.

Some of us having this experienced, not just me. And maybe some may know the reason and some may not.

Getting not enough sleep is a trouble. We can't proper focus on things that should be done an accomplish. We lose our focus and can't concentrate cause we feel sleepy. Can't have a proper sleep is maybe a sign of having a sleep disorder.

Sleep disorder is a condition that we frequently impacts our ability to get enough sleep. It maybe due to stress, traveling, illness or an interruption to our normal routine. It takes a serious toll on our mental and physical health.

Signs and Symptoms

If you are experiencing any of these, it maybe a sign that you have a sleep disorder.

  • Feeling Irritable or sleepy during day. (I felt irritable often times.)

  • Have difficulty in concentrating.

  • React slowly.

  • Have troubled in controlling your emotions.

  • Feel like you have to take a nap everyday.

  • Often get told that you look tired.

The more yes you got, means you are experiencing it.

Types of Sleep Disorder

  • Insomia. Most people are very familiar with insomia. When we say insomia, it is the inability to get sleep well at night. It maybe cause of stress, health condition, medication you take or maybe a jet lag. It maybe cause my anxiety and depression. Insomia and depression go hand in hand. People with depression commonly struggle with insomia.

  • Sleep apnea. This disorder are common and treatable in which your breathing temporary stop during sleep, you suddenly awake frequently. If you have this disorder you will not remember the times when you awake, but you can felt it during day because you felt tired and irritable. This disorder is a life - threatening, so if you have this consult a doctor.

  • Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). The irresistable urge to move your legs at night. Feeling uncomfortable, aching, tingly or creeping sensation are the main reasons why you want the sudden urge to move.

  • Narcolepsy. This disorder involves excessive or uncontrollable sleepiness during daytime. It is were you felt sleeping and waking. Since this is uncontrollable it may be dangerous specially when you are driving.

Tracking the Symptoms of Sleep Disorder

Admit it or not, we sometimes neglect the symptoms of having sleep disorder. We're sometimes afraid to admit that we have disorder and illness. We often times say that you're just tired and needs to rest and after that everything will be fine.

To fully understand the trouble we might experiencing, let's take some test or track our sleep to know if we have the sleep disorder.

  • Keep a sleep Diary. Keeping a record of sleep pattern and problems. The Diary should have the time you went to bed and the time you woke up. The total hours you sleep, a record of time when you stay awake, the food and the amount of food you eat, you feelings and mood before going to bed, and any medications you take before going to bed. This will help you if you eventually need to see a doctor.

Having enough sleep and rest is what our body needs. This will help us have the energy to do our day to day activities and tasks. If our body doesn't have enough rest, it make affects our daily activities. It may be a hinder to finish the given.

Getting enough sleep is very important. We must be mindful with what is happening with our body so that at the end, we will not suffer.
