We have the right to a peaceful assembly. Yes! We have the right to hold a rally to express our anger against the corruption that has been recently exposed. But mind you, this corruption is not new. This corruption has been ongoing for decades, spanning various administrations. However, is resorting to violence necessary? How does destroying properties help? How does initiating an assault against the police who were trying to maintain peace and order in the area help? I won't be surprised if the next issue that will come out will be about "human rights" violations committed by the police officers for roughly handling the protesters. One thing I learned long ago from these rallies. There will be elements that would escalate a peaceful rally to a violent one. First, speakers would fuel the anger of the crowd through their speeches. Then someone from the crowd would initiate the physical violence.
