Cryptocurrency Airdrop As this is my first post in this channel, let's trace the origin where my cryptocurrency journey started. AIRDROP - in the cryptocurrency business, is a marketing stunt that involves sending coins or tokens to wallet addresses in order to promote awareness of a new virtual currency. Small amounts of the new virtual currency are sent to the wallets of active members of the blockchain community for free or in return for a small service, such as retweeting a post sent by the company issuing the currency. (definition comes from INVESTOPEDIA) In short, this is a free coin sent to your wallet before officially launching that coin to multiple trading platforms and different crypto wallets. Some airdrops require you to sign up in a specific wallet or trading platform and some requires you to do social task before you become legible of the said airdrop. Of course, not just because you heard an airdrop is about to happen doesn't mean it is a legit one or not. Most of airdrops were scam especially those who asks for payment as gas fee. You need a proper research before engaging because instead of gaining maybe you will start losing. Some airdrops requires KYC (know your customer) wherein it needs an ID verification before you become legible in the distribution of the cryptocurrency. This really needs a thorough research so that you will not be scammed and the worst is becoming a victim of identity theft. Tips: 1. In joining the airdrop, use a dummy email (if airdrop requires email) for security. But if you are sure that the airdrop is legit then no need for it. 2. Never use passport for KYC (if kyc required). Use an ID, wherein you think has the least of value. Since passport is an international identification breaching your security will be easy. 3. The most important: since free money is very tempting, just always make a research about it. Studying what you are getting into will be the safest way since we are dealing with the power of internet.
