The Resurrection must be understood in the same way, because it is also unique. "Resurrection" is not an event, but a process. The focus is not on the resurrection of Jesus Christ alone or even primarily, but on all of us as God's resurrected children, experiencing new life in Him.

The resurrection of Jesus matters because He was the Author, Finisher and Hope of our faith.

The resurrection is the only proof we need that God loves us, that Jesus was who He said He was and that He can do what He said He would do.

But more than that, resurrection is the most important aspect of Jesus Christ. It's what makes Him the Savior of the world. Even the apostle Paul realized this when he wrote, "If Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless and so is your faith." (1 Corinthians 15:14)

There are scores of religions in this world. Each has its own set of beliefs and practices--a set of articles to be believed and followed. That's why it's so significant to examine each one and see if it's from God Almighty, who made us and loves us. Most religions fail this examination, but one does not.

If the resurrection didn't happen, then Christianity is a hopeless deception. But because it did happen, our lives can and will be transformed by what Jesus accomplished on the cross.

Starting with the Easter egg hunt, today's the first wave in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who rose from the dead to prove He was who He said He was: Conqueror of sin and death.

But the promise of a resurrection was not normal. It was not something any other person or religion predicted. Neither was it something that could be faked. This is why the Resurrection matters.

The resurrection of Christ is the record of His return to life on the third day after His crucifixion. The Resurrection of Christ is central to Christianity, serving as its foundation.

In part, Christianity can be defined as a belief that Christ's death and resurrection provide salvation and reconciliation with God for mankind.

In modern times, Christian theologians generally agree that Jesus was crucified, buried within a tomb, and rose bodily from the dead three days later.

The Biblical accounts of the resurrection state that Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons; then to two disciples on the road to Emmaus; and then to Peter, whom he charged with tending his sheep.

After a period of forty days he ascended physically into heaven, in the presence of over five hundred eyewitnesses

Angels appeared at several spots to many people at once, telling them that Christ was risen indeed.

You can find this story in the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 28 – Verses 6-8; Mark Chapter 16 – Verses 5-8 ; Luke Chapter 24 – Verse 5-8; and John Chapter 20 – Verse 24.
