Is the DeFi sector really decentralized? The classic financial institutions that used to be strongholds of the free market showed their true colors during Wallstreetbets and the Gamestop situation. They are being replaced by various dApps, which are already replacing exchanges, banks, and even insurance companies. But it is quite difficult to find really decentralized finance in the market. One way or another, almost every dApp has a centralized system. This can be a team that alone makes decisions, the ability to block a smart contract or an individual user. So it turns out that only the name remains from De-Fi, and the projects inside do not differ from Binance, except that the functionality is worse. But still, there are projects on the market that can be called truly decentralized, or striving for it. They have a number of features. Independence from blockchain. Most dApps are built on Ethereum. All updates, even worse ones, will be unconditionally accepted. Therefore, real DeFi is built either on its own blockchain, or they have several networks at once, for example, as in 1inch, where there are 8 of them at once. Lack of identification. For a dApp, any user should be just a wallet. Not in the sense that he is only required to pay, but in the sense that there are no identifications, from KYC to location and IP. This, by the way, distinguishes platforms like 1inch from DEXs like Uniswap, which ban users Availability of DAO. A decentralized organization that manages the network and allows token holders to vote on key protocol parameters. This is such a rare thing that any project that introduces it or is about to introduce it is worth its weight in gold. And the same 1inch, although it has not yet introduced full-fledged control, is already head and shoulders above everyone else in this segment. Therefore, it is worth taking a closer look at the sites that you use. Most likely, behind the mask of DeFi, there is an ordinary crypto project that just wants to hype on decentralization. And in the current realities, using such projects is a high risk of losing money, because politics can cover up any theft of funds - hello Uniswap and Coinbase © CryptoGuru
