France is exploring the possibility of using blockchain to sell tickets for the 2024 Olympics. Michel Cadot, the French Government's Interministerial Delegate for the Olympic Games, sent the amendments to the Prime Minister's Office, concerning the holding of the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. One of the recommendations concerns a system for selling tickets to the event using blockchain technology in order to provide additional security to fans. According to Kado's proposal, it is necessary to introduce the technology of "non-transferable tickets", built on purchases through the blockchain. The authenticity of tickets will be verified by a special blockchain explorer, so digital tickets cannot be counterfeited or resold to a third party. The Olympic Committee will have to send purchased digital tickets a few days before the competition and at the entrance to the stadium, each spectator needs to register through special equipment, after which the ticket will be deactivated. It is worth noting that the updated provisions came after the unrest in the Champions League final, where the match was delayed due to the fact that thousands of fans showed up without tickets or tried to present a fake one.
