Online Learning for students: Good or Bad?
New normal, new adaptation. It's almost a year when the CoVid-19 hit the world resulting to pandemic and changed everything we view as normal but then as human who find a way to strive hard beyond every situation, we are still adapting this so called "new normal," seems like we woke up in a dream and find ourselves in reality and now we are still overwhelmed on how this little living particle ruined everything. Scientists are still trying to figure out how to cure this Covid-19 disease and as time goes on, people having no choice will choose to live a life that is unfamiliar and make it as if it is normal. This article will show how the students work with the new normal with the scope within Philippines, how they deal with it and how they are. Part of me as a college student has to keep up. Time is still running and lots of people are still alive. Everything will soon be back again to what it was. I have to adapt. I have to live. I have to study. These are just my thoughts months after the virus broke out. Nobody was prepared with this. The time had finally come when the Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) have decided to continue the suspended classes thru an online interaction. Nobody expected it. We were just waiting for the virus to be shutted down but it went strong and undefeated. It was the month of April when the President Rodrigo "Roa" Duterte decided to stop the classes to protect the health of every students and give them immediate time to go back to one's hometown. Six months have passed, the class continuation has finally been decided. That was exciting but bothering as well. Given that the Philippines known to its low quality of internet in the South East Asia, everyone is not privileged enough to cope up with this. In my case, it was okay with me at the first hand but after a month here comes the news wherein lots of students committed suicides. Everyone was depressed knowing that everbody is in crisis. Others cannot even afford anymore. This was a hard thing to do even to the teachers they also have to find new ways of teaching they are not familiar with just to go flow with it. I thought I was the only one who think this too but everyone does. This new normal is depressing. Five months later, the class is still going on. I lost weight. Cases of suicide reports decreased and most students and even teachers who are fan of Facebook and Instagram throw in their trashes of stress and depression about the online platform. "We are not learning anymore, we are just submitting on time," they said. Nothing has changed. Everybody is still suffering. Everything has to be seen as new normal.
