Queen of the Night - It is quite hard to distinguish the Queen of the Night plant from the Dragon Fruit plant. The leaves and flowering are almost the same as it is in the same specie of cactus with no true leaves but flattened stems that easily be rooted like all cactus and succulent plants. Queen of the Night is also known as Epiphyllum Oxepetalum, Dutchman's Pipe Cactus, Princess of the Night, Orchid Cactus, Night Bloom Cereus and etc. Queen of the Night is very unique in its flowering as the flower bloom will open only at night and will bloom only single night. I experienced the beautiful flowering of Queen of the Night at my mom's garden that encourages me to have it at my own collection. The flowering will develop from a flowering bud that pointing downward. It will change its orientation to horizontal once ready to bloom. I visit my Queen of the Night plant every morning and night time as I don't want to miss its beautiful flowering with light sweet scent of fragrance.
