After a night of heavy rain, the rain finally stopped in the late morning. Flooding has been reported in certain areas near my parents' home. We were lucky in that our irrigation and drainage systems functioned flawlessly. Today's weather is really beautiful, with light sunshine and a light breeze. I began the day by walking around the property and gathering produce of vegetables and fruits from the garden. We only keep a little portion for ourselves, and the majority is distributed to families in our community that have been affected by Covid-19. My mom planted Winter Gourd or Winter Melon in the place where I showed you the bright yellow flower the other days, and it has now begun to bear fruits. This young Winter Gourd weighs about a kilogram, and when fully matured, each fruit will weigh between 3-5 kilograms. Winter Gourd fruit can be used in soups, curries, and boiled or steamed to eat with chili dipping sauce. I hope you all have a beautiful Tuesday.
