The rain has stopped, and we are now being showered with heat and sunshine throughout the day. But it's the full bloom of the Rain Lily that my mom planted around the big trees to have its foliage leaves cover the ground and retain moisture when there is no flower bloom that really surprised me. Rain Lily is an underutilized perennial flower bulb that will spread abundantly in the garden with little or no care. Normally, Rain Lily flowering blooms during the rainy season, but with plenty of rain over the last two weeks, its flower bulb has produced the flower bloom. My mom's Rain Lily comes in a variety of colors, including white, pink, and yellow flowers. But it was the delicate bright yellow stamens of the white Rain Lily flower that won my heart.
