@IamAndy more from that month

The weather is strange in that there is no sunlight during the day and it is extremely chilly and cold at night. I can't believe this is the weather in the summer. I spent my easy Friday morning admiring the beautiful new flowering bud with multi-colored Billbergia that my mom had planted in her garden. I now understand why my mom planted so many of them, as they will begin to flower once they reach maturity, which is usually in 2-3 years. Billbergia flowers are pink, purple, yellow, or green, with red or pink bracts surrounding them. It has the common name "Queen's Tears" because of the drops of nectar that "weep" from the flowers when the plant is moved or touched. What do you have planned for Friday night and the weekend?
