Crown Flower or Calotropis gigantea - I recently cut down some of crown flower shrubs that grew in some part of my property and all of them were in white color flower. But I am considering to keep this purple crown flower that grows along the fence line next to my neighbor's warehouse. This strange shape, color and form of flower plays quite significant role of Thai people. In Thailand, we mainly use the crown flower in various kind of flower arrangements as well as strings crown flowers into a garland for wedding ceremony and etc. But we don't plant this beautiful flower shrub in home garden. The entire leaves, stem and plant contains a poisonous milky sap. Even some parts of crown flower plant is great with medicinal properties but need to use it with caution.
