Lord of the Rings Quote of the Day for Real Life Application: "'I do really wish to destroy it!' cried Frodo. 'Or, well, to have it destroyed. I am not made for perilous quests. I wish I had never seen the Ring! Why did it come to me? Why was I chosen?'" In the beginning, poor Frodo is an innocent Hobbit. He enjoys the simple pleasures in life. Food, naps, spending time with his friends, and fireworks under the moonlight. His entire life changes when he takes on the burden of The Ring. At first all he thinks he needs to do is get the ring to Rivendell and then all will be made easy. Unfortunately, this was merely the beginning. And it was in that beginning that Frodo met his ultimate doom (being stabbed my the Morgal blade). Who of us wouldn't want to see evil destroyed? Maybe it's a social justice cause, maybe it's something we believe is wrong in the world. If we could just snap our fingers and will it to be done surely we would vote in favor of good. However, this is not the case. Many of us would say "Yes, this is a good cause. Someone, not me, but someone should do something about it." If we are really distraught about it we might even be tempted to say we wish we knew nothing of it. However, sometimes, we are the only ones who can bear the burden. Frodo had carried the ring thus far. The Ring had come to him. It was his decision what to do with it now. Fortunately, he found the support of others and ultimately succeeded in his quest. Find support from those around you and work to do good in the world! #LordOfTheRings
