But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” What a great bit of dialogue. I remember sharing this quote last April or so. Right when the Pandemic was really starting to take it's toll. Maybe it was March. But it was around the time that toilet paper was out of stock everywhere and it seemed that humans were showing their true colors of self preservation over lover and generosity for their fellow man. Gandalf is reassuring Frodo that yes, his task is difficult, but everyone feels the same way he does. Gandalf goes the next step further and explains all we can do is decide what we are going to do with the time that we are given. Are you going to spend your life complaining, wishing for better days? Are you going to be stuck living in the past, or stuck hoping for a better future? Perhaps instead you should choose to be the best you can be right now, helping those you come into contact with. Show kindness. Show love. Be better than the norm. Make people question why you are the way you are. Be an example of a what good should look like! #LordOfTheRings
