It was one of my colleagues turn to cook staff meal so he bought some soba noodles to cook for lunch. It looked more like udon noodles but slightly thinner and not as thin as soba noodles. So I guess it was a hybrid version of both udon and soba. Anyway let's call it soba noodles, non-traditional that is. It came in a packet with a premix sauce which from the taste it was like a teriyaki sauce with a nice balance of sweet and savory. He sliced up some cabbage for the vegetables and for the protein we had some salami in the fridge so he cut that up into slices as well. All these went on to the flat top to cook until they were nicely caramelised and charred, giving it lots of lovely smokey aroma. The noodles then went in and the sauce as well. He stir fried them on the flat top on high heat to cook the noodles and in about 5 minutes they were ready to eat. A super simple meal but it was so delicious that I went for seconds. I wanted to go for thirds but there wasn't enough left so we'll definitely be cooking more in the future when we make this yakisoba dish. Man I love fried noodles! #food #foodie
