The Curse of San Sebastian Part III

After seeing that strange incident, I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night. I waited with my revolver in hand, sitting behind the door of the room, waiting for someone to sneak in and try to kill me. but luckily nothing happened, just my usual paranoia.

At dawn, with the fall of the first rays of the sun, I left the room and I could see that Rodriguez was waiting to hear the sound of my door to do the same, there was no need for an explanation, we just exchanged glances and went out into the streets of the town in the direction of the mayor's house.

The streets, again, were empty, as if it were a ghost town, and again that strange and disturbing feeling that someone was watching us every step we take in the ghostly dust.

Upon arriving at the mayor's house, he was waiting for us, which seemed very unusual given the time, but imagine that because of what happened that night, his early reception was no longer so unusual.

His face denoted tiredness, anguish but above all terror, but not a terror towards the spectral, rather the terror towards a punishment.

-Good morning Mr. Mayor, we are... (I was quickly interrupted)

- I know who you are gentlemen, you are Mr. Gomez and he is Mr. Rodriguez, I know what you have come for, and I am very grateful to you, anything that can help you, just ask.

- Thank you Mayor, we would like to ask you several questions, to start putting together this sinister and strange puzzle

-Of course, ask whatever sir ... (he had suddenly become speechless, and foam began to come out of his mouth)

-Mayor! Mayor! Rodriguez and I held him but when I touched his neck I noticed that his breathing and his heartbeat had stopped.... I don't know what to think anymore.... who wanted him dead and why? evidently he was fatally poisoned, ... my mind was a whirlwind of unanswered questions.
