A successfull country must be able to: - produce enough food to be self sufficient - produce enough energy - provide social services to all - make surplus So in the end it requires someone else to be less successfull. There is something fundamentaly wrong with the world. #RandomThoughts

Counties do not mean what people think , countries are basically land and human resources owned by a corporation. I'm on the side of people and farms , land and resources ,but never countries who teake away the wealth from the people. It's a deep subject.
In a way I agree. But taxes also build infrastructure, ... Imagine world without countries. Everyone minding their own business. Infrastructure is maintained and built by donations. There is no social net as everyone is minding their own business. First you would actually need some way to decide which projects will be built first. So some representative body would be needed. And some would think their ideas are better and would like to run as candidates ... Sounds like a democracy to me. We all need doctors, water, electricity, roads, ..., and we all have to pay to make it happen. Now corruption is another can of worms altogether.
The will be without countries as it was before for thousands of years , kingdoms and other systems , all Europe was built this way , note that the U.S. is a republic it's not Democratic , the UK is a kingdom , also Canada , new Zealand, Australia and most of Europe still have their old systems of kings and queens under the EU. The current political system is forced on the world and got patched every now and then because it's not stable and not meant to be, just look at the financial system. Sadly there will always be taxes , but the difference is when it got used to build infrastructure to last not to be repaired like what we have today.
Democracy is the only way to go. Everything else is dictatorship. And there practically never has been a time without countries. Historicaly speaking.
