Herculaneum, the 'birthplace' of the mythical Hercules I used the quotes for a reason, hehe, as the city is anchient, but still some 500 years 'too young' for the mythos. Herculaneum was burried under the ashes of mount Vesuvius in 79ad, in the same event that made Pompeii famous. We also (almost) visited mount Vesuvius, but that's a completely different story ... #Italy #Herculaneum #travel #RandomThoughts
