The Permanency of marriage

Immature persons often rush into marriage because of physical attraction to one another without considering the more mundane aspects of daily living and partnership. A successful marriage does not depend on a fortunate choice of perfectly matched partners. It is a lifetime process and requires many choices and many adjustments before the partners develop a unity of personalities. Each one brings unique qualities which will enrich the life of the other, but each also brings his own characteristics which may annoy the other. Those who know that it is permanent will accentuate the positive, understand that each has undesirable characteristics, and be willing to compromise.
