[WP] You were designed to be a weapon of war, an angel of death. Your creators, however, told you that you would be a protector of innocents above all else. Now, centuries after humanity was extinguished, you awake once more to defend a budding civilization from destruction.

Year 87, new earth years

"The Anphis, an extra terrestrial race that invaded one planet after the other. They were definitely a force not to be reckoned with but at those times, humanity were clueless of what this species could do. It has been 87 years since the Anphis arrived on earth. 137 years of pure misery as humanity was driven out of their homes, their cities and in some cases, even their own countries. It was horrible. At first, the Anphis declared peaceful negotiations over the current United Nations Head of that time but we weren't sure what had happened after the "negotiations". All we knew was that after that peace talk, they started attacking. House by house, street by street, they captured the humans and threw them into these floating cars that teleported us to whatever ship it was. I remember seeing some of them eating the young ones. I was lucky I escaped but it wasn't an easy escape. I nearly got caught if it wasn't for my brother- Those Anphis were creepy! With their Claws that could be as sharp as knives, ugly face and teeth so sharp they cou-"

"That's enough, dear" The children and even Grandpa Sullivan himself jump in their seats, clearly startled as a sweet lady made her appearance "The kids are getting scared and it's pass curfew"

"It's just getting good, hun. We're almost done with story time" Sullivan whined in unison with the children as they pleaded an extension just for the story to finish

"You guys know it's curfew. Your trainers won't be happy if you wake up late again just because of Grampa Sully's stories" She glanced at each of them with a stern look but none sterner than the one she had given Sullivan "And you should know better than to tell them stories. They're not ready to be facing the Anphis just yet"

No more words were uttered and one by one, the children filed out of the room and went off to their respective rooms to get the sleep they needed. Left behind was Sullivan and Lucille

"Sully, I know they like your stories of when this all started... but our grand kids, they're too young" She breathed out a deep sigh as she settled herself on his lap

"I know but they're bound to face those monsters eventually" his arms wound around her frame and pulled her close enough so that her weight was on him "It's just a matter of time before they're moved from scavenging to combat training and if they do good like their fathers did... it's just a matter of time" They both sighed, distress evident on their features. If only the Anphis never came and if only they could do something for their grandchildren that were left in their care.

The horns sounded of at 0500, children of all ages filed in one by one into their respective units. While all the remaining adults rushed to get into their respective departments. At 0515, the horns stopped and the one called leader stood on the podium to give assignments to each unit

"Good day everyone. It is now the 193rd day of year 87. I'm happy to see that our numbers haven't gotten down since the last time we had an encounter with the Anphis and since we relocated."

The crowd cheered and for a few minutes, even the leader applauded the good news as well

"However, supplies are running low. We will need to go out again soon to scavenge for supplies and if we can find more weapons, that would be highly appreciated. Now, my young warriors. I wish you good luck in this mission of yours. There seems to be no threat outside, or so the outside scouts have reported. Hopefully it stays that way"

And so, with the crowd cheering out to the younger ones that would, for the first time in so long, experience going outside. They marched to the exit that was blocked by such strict safety measures such as the three layers of reinforced steel gates.

Outside the scorching sun blazed rather extremely. And as much as simulations had prepared them for that much heat, the real one was more intense than they had taught.

Each unit was assigned a specific place and it was rather unfortunate that Marc's unit was assigned the furthest spot on the map.

It was a really long walk and by the time they had arrived, they barely had the energy to do much looking around. What did catch their attention there though, was the large metal pod and engraved on the pod was R.E.D - Responsive Enforcer Droid.

Chapter 2

And that's where the intro ends. I went with a sort of post-invasion kind of thing since i think i'm still devoid of proper emotions
