Continuation prompt sample

Warning: a very long read

So a continuation prompt is basically an exchange between people, kind of like having a group of people write a story together. I used to do this with my friends before but we can't anymore because usually, we require at least one response per day for the prompt to continue or we end it right away. The response varied since it can be a change in POV between the characters or you just simply continue it the way you would have liked the story to go.

Base rules we have is no cross commenting so you can't continue in someone else's comment. If you want to continue, copy the main story and the responses so far then make a new post where you'll continue (we did the responses through comments and the story start was the main post) the most we did when we really loved the continuation someone did was like it or tell them in private

If this ever goes well, who knows, I might want to do a giveaway too ;-;

So here's the very last one we actually did before everyone got extremely busy with life

A few more things to pack and Allie would have been all done with her things. She stared back at what was formerly her room for the past few months and thought that she should have been used to it by now. Whenever something happens, they need to move, whenever they get discovered, they move, one wrong mistake and they move. She always wondered if she'll ever find some place which she could call home but that seems quite an unlikely dream. Her family's new move wasn't that far off from their previous house, it was just two cities away this time but the need for a change of everything was still in order. The older she grew, the more Allie learned that keeping things in boxes were better than unpacking everything, who knows how many months she'll be allowed here before her family gets discovered again. Luckily people of her kind who lived nearby offered a warmer welcome than the house they were to reside. Cleaning was done whilst her parents processed their papers once more. She was to start school the next day, nothing much to look forward to but preparations still needed to be made after dinner, It was pig blood again since consuming human blood was against their kind's laws.

As per weekly protocols, she needed to grind her canines, trim her nails and make sure all the blood packs were labeled as tomato juice. School would be such a dread to face again. but she begrudgingly trudged to the local high school and made her best effort to look normal at least. She greeted her new class, offered a few small exchanges with her new class then went on her way back home. At least the people were much kinder than she had hoped for. Her days continued on like this until weeks passed and she had managed to get a few friends of her own, although she was always questioned why she never ate, they never seemed to notice yet, and she was thankful for that. It was only her parents'side that she had to worry about but she was doing good, at least.

That was, until a hooded figure came rushing towards one of her classmates as they were going home late. It wasn't until Allie lunged forward and blocked the slash the boy was to receive instead of her, and it wasn't until the hooded figure ran in panic and her classmate came to observe with a shocked expression how fast her body healed despite the life threatening slash across her chest. The boy could only utter a single word "vampire.." as he fell to his knees and continued to look at Allie in shock.

response one friend did where she ended it

Allie really did not need anyone ever finding out about her identity, not anymore. As she stood and looked at the kneeling boy, she could only glare at him and allow a growl to escape her "I should never have done that. I was discovered, thanks to you! You should have been slashed!" she raised her hand whilst cracking her knuckles. her nails were starting to grow into claws, something she had always avoided but for now, it didn't matter. She was already stained in blood, what else could go wrong. As she inched closer and closer, she could feel how the boy was tensing up, the look of fear plastered across his face was doing nothing to ease her anger as well. She ended things quickly. One quick slash across the area she had been previously slashed then it was over for him. And as if playing a witness, she let out a shrill cry from the top of her lungs in a call for help as she positioned herself to hold the boy close to her, as if to look like she had attempted to revive him earlier, maybe even to get his blood on her to make the cover up more believable.

As the authorities swarmed the area, they looked at both figures on the ground in horror. That's when Allie knew that she won. She could stay, she could pretend to be normal as long as she doesn't get discovered. Her parents never knew about the incident, nor did anyone else, all the media showed was that Allie was a brave hero that tried to save the life of a boy that was slashed by a hooded figure, nothing more. The boy's death was mourned for and thing eventually fell back into normality for Allie. Something she had always hoped for

another friend's response where we continued the story but it's
really way too long to post here

Both stayed on the ground in shock, both trying to process the turn of events that unfolded before them. But as Allie tried to stand, that was when the boy snapped from his train of thoughts and rushed over to her side in an attempt to aid her but she only flinched and swatted his hand away "please don't tell anybody about this.." Her expression was enough to show the boy how much she regretted her course of actions yet she still did so. Vampire killings always flooded the news but here he was, standing in front of a vampire, covered in her own blood, while still trying to recover from the slash she had received just moments ago. He probably would not believe it himself had he not experienced it just moments ago. He still held his hands out to help Allie and later on took her somewhere she could get changed. He offered his gym clothes despite the smell and offered to take her home as thanks. It was the least he could do for his lifesaver. That night, her promised to keep her secret for the rest of his life.

The next day, the day proceeded as usual, the crime scene they were in made the news and her anxiety was constantly surfacing in her mind. Luckily, Drew stayed true to his words, he never told anything to anybody... yet. As she was about to look for him to return his gym clothes, she was already being greeted with an awkward smile and a small hello.

"um.. your clothes" She handed him a bag that contained his belongings and again, she thanked him for lending it to her and for not telling anyone. She was about to leave for class when the class decided to go to them. The entire class apparently saw the entire exchange and arrived at the wrong conclusions.

Mine:

Drew saw the distress that painted Allie's face in that moment, and the best solution he had was to make something up quick. So with a quick nod, he leaned forward and pressed a quick peck on her lips "no need to thank me for lending you clothes, baby. I sort of ruined your clothes on our date, after all" An awkward smile, much worse than the one he previously had crossed his lips but the class bought it, even congratulated the two with how perfect they looked, but only they knew the truth. And as confused as Allie was, she played along for the rest of the day or until the day was over

"what was that earlier?"

"I couldn't think of anything else to help so... I thought maybe people wouldn't think anything was wrong if that's what they knew" It was a smart move, they both admit so they continued playing couple until. She offered a lot of her first experiences to the bot, such as her first kiss, her first date, and even as the first person to enter her life. It goes without saying that they both fell for each other in the months they had played off the fake couple game but there was always that looming question that needed to be answered eventually... what will become of them when she gets discovered as a vampire?

I wish I could post the rest of that thread because we made a really nice story out of it but maybe on another article

This reminds me of twilight, I guess your friends are big fans of the supernatural. But though I gotta commend the productivity.

Twilight was still all the rage back then. We usually did this once a week so we ended up with a handful of stories, actually. Some were fan fictions, a lot were teen fiction but it was fun

Hahaha nice, I still remember the teen fictions way back when wattpad and ebooks were still a thing.

We are not on wattpad level 😑 that level is far too cliche. I don't think we wrote anything like that ;-; we liked to maintain the quality that it could be compared to books

I'm not meaning it in a cringe-tier stories on wattpad, there are actually pretty decent fan fictions in their platform. Just like how Fifty shades of grey got adapted from a fan fiction to its real own story.

Never bothered with wattpad to know which are good but gosh the movie adapted ones are so cringey-- I go through other sites for the fictions I want. I avoid wattpad like the plague 😂😂😂

I gotta agree. Better stick with the book, I just went to wattpad because of sci-fi and fantasy recommendations from the girls from class. So...yeah. HAHAHA.
