Body Odor
What's comes to your mind when you hear the word body odor? Most of the time, when we encounter bad-smelling people, we blame it on poor hygiene. Wearing dirty clothes, skipping the shower, and not brushing the teeth are the typical culprits. But it is not always the case. We have sweat glands all over our body, but the *apocrine gland* is concentrated in the armpit, groin, and scalp. When the sweat from apocrine glands reacts with bacteria on our skin, it causes body odor. But consistent body odor can be caused by other medical conditions. So here are some of the causes of BO that is beyond hygiene. **Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).** This medical condition can cause bad breath because of the regular reflux of stomach acids. **Overactive Thyroid.** Thyroid glands cause the body to sweat. When a person has an overactive thyroid, it can cause the body to produce excessive sweat, which can cause excessive body odor. **Liver and Kidney dysfunction.** The liver and kidney help remove toxins from the body. When these organs fail to function properly, toxins can build up in the blood and digestive tract, creating odor. **Hormonal Fluctuation.** Common symptoms of hormonal fluctuation such as hot flashes and night sweats can contribute to excessive sweating and increase body odor. These are some of the medical conditions that can cause BO. Although these might be the case for some people, it is always better to consult a medical professional in case you notice something smelly in your body. Hmm 🤔 Maybe it's because of the hormones sis. But it can also be because of fats. Bacterias on our skin can also feed on fats released together with sweats. 🤔
I deleted my comment because someone commented yuck hahaha.
Ang judgemental naman nun. Da who sis? Haha. Anyway, I made this article so people will be aware and do not be too judgemental the next time they encounter someone with BO. Its normal for most people naman kasi talaga. Unless consistent at nananapak na yung amoy. 😂
Haha. True sis.
Nakaka turn off naman kasi talaga hahaha.
Oo sis. Yung tagfa-five pesos na tawas (di ko kasi alam kung ilang grams yun 😂), basta nasa two or three tbps siguro, nilalagay ko sa 1 timba na tubig. Effective naman. Try mo sis baka effective din sayo. 😁
Tatry ko nga haha. Dati kasi milk salt gamit ko e kaso dinako pwede magbabad sa paliligo kasi nga may anak ako haha. Thank you sis.
Sige sis. You're welcome. Sana effective din sayo 😄
There's also a factor about the protein coding in your body where people honestly naturally stink. I forgot what it was called but it's a very neglected medical condition because it's often hust mistaken as something else
It it different from trimethylaminuria? The rare genetic disorder also know as *fish odor syndrome?* 🤔🤔
Oh wait, i think that's the name! Though you didn't include that there
Yeah. I forgot that one. But I did not know that it was because of protein coding. Thanks for that info sis.
Yeah, when the amino acids in those protein don't go right, or the protein backbone gets denatured, it could lead to that but only a few people really have that case. I'm happy to have added to your article 😊😊
