In life, we have many experiences. Happy memories, sad stories, and an experience that somehow turned out to be the turning point of our lives.

As for me, one of the many experiences that taught me a lesson is having an empty stomach.

Empty not because I did not have my meal. But because there's no meal at all. This was back when I was in grade school and in my early high school days. There were times when I went to school with an empty stomach and no packed meal or any money to buy food. I survived those days thanks to my dear friends who shared their meals with me. There were also times when having a meal once a day was already a big blessing for us. These experiences made me realize that I should always be thankful for every little blessing. These experiences taught me the importance of gratitude and the value of giving.

The above photo is my gratitude journal. It is a regular notebook covered using recycled bouquet wrapper and dried rose petals. Every morning, I write here the things that I am thankful for. It always feels great to appreciate the things that I have. Here is an excerpt from my journal.

I always thank the universe for the gift of life, the gift of families and friends, and for everything I have. Because it is gratitude that turns what we have into enough. We should be thankful for everything we have while working hard for our goals.

Past experiences also taught me the value of giving. Giving doesn't necessarily mean you have many or it does not require much to be able to give. I learned to give not because because I know how it feels to have nothing.

The result of gratitude and giving is something money cannot buy. These give peace and real happiness. Thru these two, we can always change someone's day of even their lives. And I believe, in this world with so many greedy and take-it-all people, these two things are something more people should practice.

How about you? What's that experience that taught you a life lesson? You can share it in the comment section. You can also tag a friend so they can share their experiences too. I would really love to read them and learn from you guys. This is not a giveaway article but I'm also giving some small amount of upvote for some comments.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great day everyone. ❤

True. It will make us appreciate even the smallest thing. And like what they say, acknowledging the good that you already have in your life is the foundation of all abundance.

Thanks for reading. ❤

Yes. We have to appreciate the little things. As for me, the experience that taught me a life lesson was when I had a task to complete. I could've practiced for it but I felt I could do it without practice and it didn't end well. It taught me to be humble because sometimes things don't always go as you plan.

That seems to be a lesson-learned-the-hard-way.. But I agree to what you said. We should always be humble and prepare for something we want to achieve.
