Imagine coming across this in the woods.. It's terrying! Yes, you're right, you imagine it as if it's a dead people fingers.. It is a saprobic fungus, known as DEAD MAN'S FINGERS. It is a common inhabitant of forest and woodland areas, usually growing from the bases of rotting or injured tree stumps and decaying wood. All parts of this plant are poisonous and occasionally lead to fatalities.
