Dear Diary: 03/07/2020

Going out today was a blessing and it is still a blessing all along.   **8:30 a.m.**   ***Dear amazing diary,*** As we are already in July 3rdand salary has not come, the expectations are high, or I should say both expectations and anxiety is up on the rooftop. The problem is not food, as proceeds from blogging can take care of feeding, at least it’s not that bad. *The problem is our rent that had expired* *The problem is replacing the television set that packed up three months ago* *The problem is buying baby clothes and diapers before they come*     **But we are happy and grateful**   We are happy we are eating well We are happy we are healthy We are happy we understand each other (my wife and I) We are happy we have peace in our home and surrounding There are more things to be happy for, than there’s to worry about, so happiness wins.    *Dear Friday,* **9:15 a.m.**   At the office we have our weekly progress meeting today. There were 12 people in attendance: all departments fully represented. After opening prayers, the project engineer read the minute of the previous meeting. After reading, the store manager observed that it is the secretary that was supposed to read the minute of the meeting. That was noted for correction in the next meeting. The project manager asked why the secretary did not send the minute of the previous meeting to every personnel by mail last Wednesday as agreed in the last meeting. The secretary complained that she sent the mail yesterday but only found out today that it was not delivered. *It is not an excuse that since Wednesday you did not send the mail and follow up with it by checking your sent item to ensure it was delivered or ask people if they received*, the project manager said. He also pointed out that everyone had to wait for her at the meeting hall, so she prints out the minute of the meeting today, when she is supposed to be the first person to be in the meeting venue. She was pardoned for today and we are expecting a better performance next week.   *On any other business (AOB)* The material manager pointed out that we mentioned the issue of celebrating our new certification from ISO (Organization of International Standard). The accountant was not in attendance, thus the human resource manager promised that the celebration should be shifted to next week because of financial difficulties faced by the company at the moment.   There was a quick review of our vessel operations ongoing at Onne seaport. The job has been ongoing for 4 days now, but the client has not released money yet for salary to be paid. The vessel operations officer pointed out that the job is at 86% completion, stating that our equipment and personnel will return when the job is completed. The meeting ended at 11: 05 a.m. and we returned to our different offices.     **11:25 a.m.**   I proceeded to check out our drilling machine in the workshop that was hired by another company to do their work. They had finished drilling and were ready to return it. So, I was with the store guy to ensure the machine is in good condition before being put back in the store. The machine was in good order and was returned.     **12 noon**   This is breaking time and my lunch is ready, because I brought it from home. For today, I’m eating ekpangnkukwu, a native food, prepared with merged water yam, vegetables (mainly pumpkin leaf), periwinkle, crayfish and dry fish. My wife also included goat meat. It’s a very delicious meal and a balanced diet in one. Anyone that had tested it before won’t stay from eating it at least once in a week. My wife cooked plenty, so you can come and eat if you are close by.   I will be closing by 4 p.m. today against the normal 5 p.m. because my pastor is coming for a visit. This would be his first visit to our home since we got married in February this year.   ***Thank God it’s Friday. Happy weekend to you guys!***
