Where Lies the Future
For in frustration I ask ‘’where lies the future’’ For then, I was in my words captured Planted with strange convictions As though it had in my stares unveiled Awaiting time led I could find the future even in my thought strayed Having her fair share in all thinking or say Her gaze did preoccupy me all day And volume never had an end I had the future in my dreams That rushed in night or day Like a lamp that never deems She rested seeming always to be there I placed the future on my mirror So I could see through me Perhaps see her hope clearer Than it has ever been But now I seem not see the future So much I think thieves have their way What then becomes my fate Living without it’s ray Where lies the future The paintings in our dreams The tendrils we owned and nurtured That which we set just like the bricks
