Heart Cries
Slowly shattered by fellow colleagues Distracted with rearranging the pieces, paying less attention to The Call Wincing as life hits me with bitterness and snickers at my inability to beat it Seeking for relief and true happiness That soothing relief that comes on Saul as David plays the harp I AM THE HEART Yearning for perfect peace and serenity in every piece I read and listen to Struggling to break free from the bonds of slavery where I and falsehood are bonded together Fighting to say no to the frequent desires to drink from an empty pleasure-filled cup Crying out for a release from the grip of addictions adding aching emptiness to my soul Yelling out for complete sanity for I am slowly driving into insanity I AM THE HEART Reaching out to the old rugged cross Accessing the throne of grace with boldness Lifted up to you, my King, in brokenness Carved out from the inside of bodies with blood still dripping Remembering that the blood that was shed still drips Stretched out to you as a living sacrifice by hands of living-dreads Not to be compared with the sacrifice at Calvary I AM THE HEART LORD The essence of life is unknown if I don't beat for you Yes! If I don't beat the drums of salvation and restoration into the ears of men Take Lord! This stone that is dead Make it come alive by your Spirit into a living stone built upon the foundation Christ Fitly framed together with others to grow into a holy temple Let every beat that comes from me scream out the beauty of your holiness In sweet angelic melodies
