If I perish, let "me"!
If I perish, let me please! for what is life without a course? If warring would lean me peace Why not let me run this loss! I seek a calling! Or the way through. I forge a yearning! a crystal clue. If in the way of "dying," I find the lost door. And in soul grieving, I hear a clearer call. Then let "me"! Let me attempt the way of no return Let me weep myself to the throne Cover me up like a sown corn if in my dying, you are crowned! Oh that thy lamp should come upon my feet And thy light Should make me see, a thousand soul heading for hell and the way cut short this tale. In thy light I see light In brighter light, I gain might If you must, send me to the field Give me a sickle to wield. Let me perish! for it pays to find course For yet when I arise, I shall wield his sword!
