To be honest, when I first heard of/saw mention of Threads, I was confused. That's because I immediately thought of multi-threading in programming, particularly Java. However, I quickly learned that it's supposedly "the next Twatter-killer that's going to blow up", along with all the other flash-in-the-pan alternatives that were supposed to do that but failed to. To extend a metaphor, I'm quite happy to side with the people who're going to let it run its course and die silently/without notice in the background.
