The weekend we spent a couple of weeks ago in Rome treated us to nice, albeit cool weather. It was warm in the sun, and in the shade it was already good to have a hat and gloves. Since we booked private accommodation in advance in the city center, near the Termini train station, a large number of destinations were at our fingertips. The first thing we visited was one of the attractions where people take pictures at any time of the day or night - the Trevi Fountain. This of course is not the only fountain in Rome, where there are them on literally every corner, but it is the most visited. In the immediate vicinity of the fountain are the Spanish Steps, famous for its architecture that faithfully conveys the spirit of the Spanish conquests and their colonies, but also for the film "Holiday in Rome" with Kerry Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Since we were full of impressions, but also hungry, we sat down in a local pizzeria, with famous checkered tablecloths and shared a giant pizza with homemade wine.
