Remember how I made noise about having to eat late on Sundays? Well today was no exception as I had my first meal of the day around 4:30pm. I got back from church 1:30pm (I stayed a bit late after service thinking food will be ready by the time I got home) but they just started preparing food. My tummy was already demanding for fuel so I sendt my younger sibling to get snacks for all of us at home. I was able to sustain myself for some hours. While they were boiling the rice and preparing pepper, we ran out of gas and today being sunday means we can’t refill today. No electricity to continue cooking too. We opted to use firewood and personally I don’t buy the idea of using it as a source of fuel for cooking. Firewood releases CO2 into the air. Some might argue that firewoods are carbon neutral but that isn’t true. It can only be considered carbon neutral if the carbon dioxide emitted is absorbed by trees around. As there are not much trees around, I feel a little guilt about allowing the release of CO2 into the atmosphere. But what could we have done? Order food and then waste the rice. I don’t know. 😞 #RandomThoughts
