I am dedicating my post to the children today because I wish for lots of change in the world for the sake of the children. It is the children's day celebration in Nigeria today, kids are been celebrated every 27th of May and it comes with a holiday for the kids to have fun engagement with one another.
The celebration didn't hold in Nigeria last year and across the world due to the pandemic but things are kind of better and I am sure the kids would be looking forward to having a good time today like they did before the Covid-19 shut the world down.
The situation of kids not just in Nigeria gives me lots of concerns because of the challenges many corrupt leaders and elders have brought into the children's world. With the current situation of the world, I just can't imagine what the world would look like for unborn kids if the world is going through this much already.
We so much blamed politicians which I won't dispute the fact that they have made things difficult in the country due to the decisions they made but as parents, we have done more. The welfare of every child should be a priority for every parent but people don't worry about welfare before bringing kids to the world and I think that's where the main problems begin for kids.
As parents, every decision and action we take affects every child we bring to the earth. Judging from the problems kids are facing today, I concluded that WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHILDREN SUFFERING IN THE WORLD TODAY. I will make my point brief and simple
1. The world is going through a difficult time as a result of overpopulation, can we blame the government for this? I don't think so, the fault is ours because many adults in the world today don't know when to stop having kids.
They just go on and on bringing kids into a collapsed world, it would have been great if they had the plan of raising those kids but no, they just find it fun and beneficial for them to have lots of kids for selfish reasons that include child labor.
It is disheartening to know that the future of these kids future has even been destroyed before arriving into the world.
Why would you bring 4 kids to the world when your income can only cater for two successfully or isn't better to train two successfully than making the whole four suffer?
Miracles do happen and these kids get lucky enough to become successful but how many out of the kids going through these life struggles made it to the top?
2. I believe children don't vote, their voting power lies in the hand of their parents. You have to be 18 before you can exercise your rights to vote, the choice of their parents will determine what those children will be getting after electing a new leader.
As parents, we have failed our children in this area unknowing to us that we own the consequences.
We make the wrong choice of voting because of a stipend that won't last us a day not to talk of 10 years. The children suffer today from your actions but the real suffering comes from elders at old age because those children won't be there to help you when you are old.
I wonder why we never thought of this, we vote in people who don't care about you not to talk of your children. I believe people with the interest of the children should be considered as well but we consider people who are giving us our future to eat at once.
Your actions have deprived the children of the necessary things that they need to grow in the kind of future we want to see. They are victims of kidnapping, political crisis, religious crisis, and others.
During the lockdown, many Nigeria youth lost their lives when their government ordered military personnel to open fire on the harmless youths.
Kids are been abducted from their school just to be used as puppets by some greedy leaders, they are been killed just for some set of people just to have what they want.
Your actions have exposed them to crimes and violence of the highest form, I just hope we can realize things now and amend things not because of today but our future.
A day celebration is not enough to right the wrong we have done to these kids, we must restore the hope of a better future for them.
