Created as companion not a slave.
My mentor inspired me to write this after he replied to my comment on his post while on his vacation. His family life is one I admire a lot and I am preparing myself before that time become I want to be an inspiration to my children and many other people out there as well. I wouldn't want you to see this as a religious post because I will back some point up with the scripture and it is going to be a dialog box. The post isn't as serious as the title may sound, it is just going to be about knowing the importance of having a woman in the home. Most men in the world today see the importance of having a woman in the home because they want a female in their home to do the chores, warm their beds, and bear children. Looking at it critically, you will agree that all the things are what we expect from a woman in the home but we understood their importance wrongly. **Why**? Women weren't created to take those roles in life and I believe that the only thing that can't be done by the men among all their duties is carrying a baby. Been a man doesn't give you a restriction from some things in the home, it isn't about just making money for the family.
Let check the book of Genesis 2 vs 18 Quoting from King James' version **"the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him.**
God made women because he wanted the men to have a helper, not a slave, giving a man a companion was God's intention but it is so unfortunate that we have turned that companionship into slavery. As men, we now see the need for women to do the cooking, do the laundry, clean the house, take care of the kids, and other necessary chores. ***Deep down in me, even a maid shouldn't do so much as a job before earning a living.***
***I mentioned something about my mentor earlier, he made a cooking roster for himself and the wife. They share the cooking duties at home and he does that as a way of supporting her, relieving her of the stress, and also a way of showing affection towards her.***
It is so unfortunate that despite women enduring the stress, many men out there still fail to appreciate their efforts. Instead, we choose to nag/ complain about how things are not done properly forgetting that they are human and God even gave us the strength better than theirs. The funniest part is that many men use their work as an excuse for not supporting their wives with the house duties but these same women will do all these chores and still end up going to the marketplace to make some money to support the man financially.

These things didn't just start today, the men's superiority has been passed down from our forefathers till today. As children, we learn from our parents and a male child sees that his father does nothing to support the wife, he registers it and believes that's how things should be done. He does the same thing to his wife and his kids also passes the same thing down to the coming generation. ***I once met a teenager who told me he can't do the house chores and I asked why? He said my dad married my mom for that purpose and he gives her money. She is been paid for what she is doing, I didn't believe my ears.*** If a young kid could do that to his mom, the wife shouldn't be expecting any lesser except for a miracle. Assisting the woman at home is important and if your schedule is a tight one, find a physical way of appreciating her. Something that would make the kids understand that the woman is doing a great job and that is enough to make understand a woman effort must be appreciated **Let me ask the men, how do you express your love?** The sweet names and gifts ain't enough. Doing the chores even though not always makes women happy and feel very special.

In addition, doing that isn't just for the woman but your male children will also see the need to do the same when they have their spouse in the future. **Lead image.** https://unsplash.com/photos/T6zu4jFhVwg

Good thoughts on this, brother and you said the truth. Most men have this entitlement spirit. She is a wife, a helper not a maid. She doesn't have to do everything. She needs help. I think this problem can go away only when we are able to change how we see women.
