Would you agree if I say that the worst enemy of this country isn't actually China but us Filipinos? China's expansionism is based on their rise as a great power, which could eventually be a superpower if destiny allows them. The US, Britain, Spain, and other major European powers expanded exessively at the expense of weaker nations (see European colonialism) — just like what China has been doing today. Does it sound justifying China's behavior? Obviously not, the reality is that no empire lasts forever. China expanding today and a day will come where that will stop, and as history dictates, another empire will just rise to enslave Filipinos. It could be Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, or Japan once again. "If the mindset of the Filipinos remains, we will just continue to bow down to one empire to another."
