"Staring is Rude" Are you afraid? What are you afraid of? Are you afraid of losing someone you love(Thantophobia)? Are you afraid of being alone (Autophobia)? Are you afraid of crowds (Enochlophobia)? Are you Afraid of being watch or stared at? If yes, then probably you are suffering from Scopophobia. Scopophobia is a fear of being watched or stared at . To make my explanation further, Scopophobia is an anxiety disorder characterized by a morbid fear of being seen or stared at by others. Scopophobia can also be associated with a phatological fear of drawing attention to oneself. Scopophobia is made up of two greek words "Scopo" which means to look at or examine and "Phobos" which means fear. There are two different kinds of phobia's, social phobia's and specific phobia's. Social Phobia's is about fear of being Judge and ridiculed unfairly by those around them, while specific phobia's deal with very detailed fears that include panic trigger like seeing a snake. Scopophobia is a combination of both. As the phobia stems from specific type of interaction which usually arises from social situation. Scopophobia, in minor degree it is also a morbid shamefacedness , and the person covers the face with his/her hands . In greater degree, the person will shun the visitor or the people around him/her and escape from his/her sight where this is possible . Scopophobia is more often manifest among women or among men. The symptoms usually associated with scopophobia are found in variety of anxiety disorders and other phobia's. Since Scopophobia can commonly traced back to a fear of being unfairly judged or negatively viewed in a social situation , this attacks commonly occur in public places where the attention can be shifted on the individual. Panic attacks usually follow this situation , where a person may suffer from one or more symptoms. Irrational fear of being looked at or stared at, In this state you're not using your mind properly, you are not thinking clearly because of your extensive fear. Then if your fear is much stronger than your calmness, you will panic and feel terror. Being stared at is a very terrifying for those people who has Scopophobia, that 's why staring is very rude for them. Blushing is also a common symptoms of having Scopophobia, to make matters worse the phobic might also be afraid of blushing (Erythrophobia) which is found especially in young people. There are events in life that can trigger this type of phobia. Mostly it is found that the traumatic events in life does definite impact onto the person gets suffered from the anxiety, in some of the cases this phobia's are also genetic and can be because of the heredity issues. Mentally disturb, social cut off, living in a stressful environment, being abused in childhood, being too much punished on minor mistakes and have a very low level of confidence are some causes of having Scopophobia. Scopophobia can lead to various complicated issues if left untreated. So, what are the possible treatment for scopophobia.Hypnotheraphy, it is an alternative curative healing method that is used to create subconscious change in a subject in the form of new responses, thoughts, attitudes, behaviors, and feelings. In other words, hypnotheraphy helps to reprogram your subconscious, "programs" that maybe part of your fear. When this program are "de-bugged" the symptoms of scopophobia often are minimized. There's also a Strategy for overcoming Scopophobia and that is "Anchoring". It works like whenever something unique happens and you are in an intense emotional state (good or bad) your nervous system creates a link between the two. The way to use anchoring to transform you from Scopophobe to phobia-free is to deliberately create a link between some kind of unique stimulus-one you control and can initiate whenever you want- and a powerful mixture of the kind of calm. Confident emotions yoy want to experience instead of scopophobia. Whether we are able to acknowledge it or not, when we step out into public we are directly into the public eye. Most of usbseek for attention and they find it flattering but for others attention can be terrifying, because they are afraid to be seen, watched or stared at. So Staring is rude to those people who suffers from Scopophobia because they are afraid of it, and it affects their life so much, their life in society might just be ruined. The people who suffer scopophobia will be unable to properly communicate due to the feeling of panic or terror once all eyes turn on them, they can't even looked directly into the eyes. It will just cause extensive damage to their personal life and mental well being. If scopophobia or any kinds of phobia if left untreated it will begin to negatively impact to your personal life and relationships. Do not be afraid and conquer your fears. Be strong and live free.Sometimes you have to get through of your fears to see the beauty of the other side. if you let your fear stop you, you wouldn't be able to live freely.
