Moruroa, French Polynesia Google Maps has eerily blurred out the atoll of Moruroa from its satellite images. Whilst some islands have been mapped, one large section has been completely blocked out. Rumour has it that the atoll contains an airstrip, a dock and a small collection of buildings. The area was a nuclear testing site for the French government between 1966 and 1996, which may explain why the images have been blacked out.
