Don't take me for a fool?
I wonder why people like to play on each others intelligence,maybe because of a negative motive which could earn them a reward later or because they take everybody to be the same?. Well,base on recent things that have seen and heard,I think some people just choose to be a fool ( sorry for this word), or the problem they are facing as at that time makes them unable to think straight which makes them vulnerable to those that take them for a fool.
I was coming back from work one night like that during the ease of the lockdown and I was hearing an advertisement of a road side hawker saying;
In yoruba langauage;
" E wa ra oruka asela, oruka aseyori, oruka ti o so okowo e din la, oruka ti o soja e di ilumoka"
English interpretation goes thus;
"Come and buy a ring that will make your sale a profitable one,a ring that will allow customers to troop into your shop to buy something, a ring that will make you rich".
I stood for several minutes to listen to the advertisement over and over again, and to look at people's reaction to the advert. To my surprise,come and see people trooping to meet him to buy the ring. Do you know what was funny to me?. I looked at the person selling the stuff,and I find it very hard to see any traces of the benefit is trying to say of his product on his body. Don't get me wrong here please,I never looked down on him but was trying to figure out a point of him being tricky and taking people for a fool. He was tattered,unkempt and his leg are dirty,he must have been there since morning. What's my point in all these that I have written? I just want us to know that truly if the ring actually work,he must have use it for himself and through his change of lifestyle,his work will be made known. He doesn't need to advertise in that mode and go through those stress of roadside hawking if truly his ring is working . Let's try and endeavour that we are not fooled by all these kind of people no matter what we are passing through.
Another instance we all are aware of is that of money ritual. Those traditional doctors that do it for them are living in a small hut where they are managing themselves looking for who to fool and collect goat,fowl and all sort of food items to feed their family. Someone who has lose focus and have concluded that nothing good can come out of his Nazareth will now go to them and tell him his problem for possible solution. Have you forgotten the herbalist is also a human who has breathe in his mouth and can die anytime,one who has his own problem looking for a way out also. He has family to cater for,therefore he will fool you and collect all that he couldn't afford for his family and you that is trying to make an end meet too will drop all your last kobo all in the name of money ritual. Why didn't the herbalist do it for himself? why didnt he do for his children? why didnt he do it for his family members? These are the questions that should be ringing in our mind anytime such thought comes to our mind.
I remember when I was growing up,I was brought up watching yoruba movies. Some of these movies are what is happening real life,why don't we just learn from it. Anytime we are watching any movie related to money ritual,the people involve in it ( the herbalist,the person who came for ritual,the friend who introduce him to the herbalist) always have bad ending like early death without enjoying the money,lose their senses ( turn mad),begging for alms and all sort of bad incident happens to them at the later days. This has built a deep knowledge for me ever since then and that's why I can't be moved by any of them. What I am trying to say is that we shouldn't be fooled by all these people,let's be wise. Never should you allow your problem weigh you down and allow it to control your life to the wrong path,never should you allow that happen.
Other things are also happening order than these that I haven't make mentioned but we all know the end result are always very bad and not profitable.
All those platform where you see invest your money today and get triple of your investment in three days, are also part of those things you shouldn't be fooled with. Don't let them take you for a fool,please be wise.
Before I round up this,let me give credit to this platform. They are not telling you to bring any money for a start neither do they tell you to refer people. All you need is to invest your time and make sure your articles are following the rules and lay down principle of the platform. What a privilege we are given, still yet some people still go up and down to speak badly about the platform. All I need to tell us is that we shouldn't be fooled by this people. The norms of the day
"Money is everything my guy,if you don't have this money,am sorry for you oo"- Boy A said to his friend
" I know,but how do i go about having this money you are talking about,you knw am just 16 year old,I have not started working"- Boy B replied
"Ohhh,so you mean you don't know what your mate are doing to get money nowadays,hahaha"- Boy A burst into laughter
" I don't know,you can help me with it"- Boy B replied with worries
" yahoo yahoo is what is trending now,are you interested?"- Boy A asked
Do we all understand the conversation between the two boys ? So let's begin
I don't know if it was our brought up foundations that has fault or the type of circle of friends we keep or the environment we found ourselves or the social media impact that has led to the attitude everyone of us possessed. This has been ringing in my mind for years ever since I got to know what's right and bad that is; since I became matured.
What do I refer to as norms?
The word norms is that which is regarded as normal or typical. The word normal means adhering to or being what is considered as natural or regular in a particular context or field. It is so painful that what we call normal nowadays is not natural,is only base on our own selfish will that makes us to call it norms. It is now regular in our sight as if it is what is expected of us.
I will from the grassroots which is from our " various homes " down to the least which is the " government ".
Norms in our homes
Many parents are the ones responsible for the misfortune of their ward/ children. Many parent doesn't care about their children at all,they think after giving the child money for food and send them to school,nothing else again which is very wrong. Let me use my area for example,at night around 9pm,you will still see little children that are supposed to be under their parent at that hour playing outside with unknown friends,in a busy street where buses and all pass by and where kidnappers can just exhibit their actions and leave. Some parent will even leave for their work since morning around 5am and come back around 9 or 10pm in the night without looking back at their children,they don't think of what their ward will eat,what they will wear,how well they are doing in school,which kind of friends they keep. All that matters to them is their work,so they just drop money for food on the table and leave,till they meet in the night again. Is not just happening in my area alone but everywhere and this has become the "the norms of the day" for us all generally. These are the reasons for hearing a lot of cases about rape,kidnapping,killings and all.
Our children lack home training,which is the job that has been neglected by most of the parent in the world and the bible says
Train up a child the way he should go,so when he is old,he will not depart from it
Whenever a child steals a something instead of the parent to rebuke the child,and tell the child the reason why he /she was rebuke,some parent wont do that instead they praise the child for the bad deed while some parent doesn't even know what they bought for their children so as to know all he/ she is suppose to possess,because they don't pay attention to their children. All thses allow the influence of peer pressure on these children and immediately peer pressure is involved,things start going extremely to the wrong way which can affect the bright future.
Norms among us
I am sure you can still remember the conversation between Boy A and Boy B at the beginning of this article,I will continue from there. Due to the lack of proper upbringing from our various home is the reason for this among us. Peer pressure from friends, negative impact from social media etc.
Yahoo yahoo; I am sorry for the use of this word,but is the best way I can use to portray it for our easy understanding. It is a fraudulent act common among the youth of nowadays, they see it as a norms of the day which is very wrong. I was able to engage in conversation with one the people involve in this act about the reason why they tend to take it up as work for them and the reply he gave me was shocking.
He said and I quote " all these money we are collecting from the whites and all are our great grandfather's money which they collected from them during the time of slavery. He said the whites enslave our grandfather's and collected all they had then. So they are now taking revenge on them too now by taking their money from them"
I laughed when I heard this because it sounds funny to me. They are able to justify a fraudulent act,they sees it as a norms in the society,which is why they are boast of it anywhere they go. I pray the lord will receive the land.
Premarital sex; this is another example of the norms of the day. We no longer value that virginity that our parent put great attention and value on during their upbringing. Virginity has been lost right from small when some are even in primary school. We don't even care about it any longer. We just want to have sex to please ourselves,this is the reason for cases of unwanted pregnancy,rape,diseases from sexual intercourse,abortions that has led to death and all. All this still trace back to our home.
Smoking and drinking; this is also one of the norms which we find it very to die down. Everyone now smoke including Male and female. Sometimes I cried when I see a boy of 8 year old smoking and doing all sort of uncalled attitudes,it makes me weep and think of what the future has for us. All this smoking and drinking has really led to different cases. We just see a little boy that has lost his senses ( mad) because of what he is into along the street,some are into hard drugs because of their exposure to smoking and that no longer serves the purpose again so they move higher into drugs which later causes problem to them. They are always seen where riots and other kind of terrorist act are being exercised. We pray the lord touches everyone heart and change us for good.
Watching pornogrpahy,cheating,lieing etc are also the norms among us that we really need to look into and see the possible way out.
Norms in government
At this point where you have really followed me to this point,I am really sure you already understand what norms are and what it can be in government. Our mind shouldn't go too far in providing the norms in government if truly we understand this article from the beginning.
"Corruptions" ; this is that one thing that is obvious in government,and it carries a lot of meaning to itself. We a know the meaning so I don't think it definition is necessary any longer. This is what our government to jeopardize the bright future of its citizens,putting them into pain,agony, suffering and trauma. They embezzled the nation money,hoard the right and privileges that the citizens are entitled to. They neglect their responsibility as a leader over the citizens,they cheat on the masses and do away with it because of the power they possess.
We are all see it as norms of the day also among us and not only the government and that's why we always say that if we are opportune to become one the politicians,that we will also embezzle money and be corrupt too.
The examples of norms that I have mentioned so far might not be everything and I am pretty sure they are more to it but the essence of the article is to open our eyes and understanding to what we see as norms and are really wrong which I believe am able to do. A lot of norms might be going through your mind presently,is fine and am glad it is but my joy will be if we put a stop to it and change our ways. It can reshape our lives,family, community and nation as a whole.

Change in motive
Like I have always say that my words are deep beyond mere looking at it. I am someone who wanted to go into music right from junior secondary school even though I was in science class then. I discovered the talent of rapping when I was in jss 3,where I started using rhymes to rap,dropping punchlines up and down to my friends and class mate. I was applauded on different occasions and also was encouraged that I can do it.
That's how the journey of " i think i will be going into music started ". During parties or talent hunt happening in my sschool,I was always call upon to rap and show my talent. And most time that I do that then,I was praised and given credit by my friends. Gradually, it started turning real in me,that I started composing songs of my own,that was when I was in senior secondary school 2. I was not just focusing on music,I was also concentrating on my studies too,one the proof that I have is that I was the time keeper 1 in ss2 and I became the Assistant senior prefect in ss3. Anyway, that was not to show any pride but instead, to clarify that I was able to multitask myself then.
As I was saying,I started composing my songs myself and it went well,not until I graduated that I started seeking for admission into the university that I had to forget my music ambition and focus on how to pass my jamb and get admission into university. During the period I was seeking for admission, i couldn't compose that long again,instead I do freestyle of about one minute. It was then I discovered I can also play with words that rhymes together which I can call "word pun".
Eversince then I have been playing with rhyming words and I feel very happy and glad doing it,especially when my friends keep encouraging me with their sweet mouth. During the time I gained admission and was added to my department group chat,I really showcase my ability to play with words which was the main reason I was well known for that in my class.
My coursemate keeps calling me "wise man". Some will say ",wise man,can you please share with us word of wisdom". In my mind I will be laughing and happy to share any because I love doing it. Here are some of my words of wisdom;
"Life is like a beans",because jesus is the bread of life.
"Life is far beyond relationship", there is ship at the end of the word,so what will happen? It will capsize.
"Life is like a book", always open to the next page of your life daily.
Lot of these do I have with me but I can't share it all here.
Back to my topic, how do I intend linking it to all I have said. Hmmmm,are u still thinking about it,calm down,I will now.
I was introduced on this platform last month by my friend, I call him men of valour @HappyBoy but I wasn't serious with it because of some little challenges. So I became very active just last week after I had gone to do a little research on how articles look likes,and how to go about composing one. I joined with the motive of earning BCH, because I need money. Permit me to use the slang presently being used here "sapa ",we say sapa is everywhere; meaning there is scarcity of money, we all are broke. This was the reason why I joined,but I discover I am no longer interested in the money as much as I have wanted it at first because of my love in writing this article. Recall that I once said I write a little just by playing with words,this really assist me with my growth when learning how to write article. I have fallen in love with writings now,I don't want to stop writing any longer. I know am not good at writing yet,but I will keep writing it the way I can and try to be at my best. I hope you all can now see the change in my motive. I really like when people listen to how I feel,how I think I understand a particular things,or allow me to express my self which is what am doing in my article.

Up Termination
My topic might look weird and you all might be thinking of what I am up to. Well,I once said I am a person that likes to drop words that involves deep thinking to it rather than looking at it with mere eyes. So,I decide to come through with this topic with the hope of raising your hope high on what to learn from this. All I can say to you right now that you are reading it is that,you should get a chair to sit on and relax and think deep at every word I will be dropping in this article. So let's begin;
`Suddenly,this habit of sleeping late in the night,chatting late in the night started showing up in his lifestyle. Changes started happening all of a sudden about his dress sense,the way he replies some questions in a group chat. All this was surprising to me,not knowing that he has fallen in love with a lady in his school. The lady was the purpose for all the changes around him. Hmmm,love can be so powerful to that extent. Well,it happens that every night, he goes to her hostel and they both leave to a seclude place where they have their romantic moment together.Awwwn,that's lovely right? Yeah it is. Things went well for years until this faithful day where they had a misunderstanding that lead to their parting ways.`
What we all can figure out at the end of the short story is that they broke up. Whenever we all hear about break up,what goes to our mind at first is relationship that exist between human,or let me say between livingthings to be precise,whereas is not only with livingthings. You all thought I will continue to gist you about those couple love life,how they gist,cuddle and all. I am sorry to cut it short because that's not where i am going precisely.
Firstly, "what's break up";
This is a termination of an intimate relationship by any means other than death. The word termination was used in the definition and that's why the word in the topic of the article says termination,but recall I titled it "up termination ". Hmmm,is that ringing a bell to the mind of you all. I remember when I was small,I means when I was a little child, whenever my friends and I are playing and we make mention of "UP", somethings goes to our mind which is GOD,because we all believe God reside up in heaven.
So,coming back to my title which says "UP TERMINATION,compare the definition of break up to the title and think deep about it.
Have u break up with the person who I believe to be living up there?, have u and the person living up there terminate your relationship? Is there something like UP TERMINATION between you and the person living up there?
I want us all to think deeply about how we have terminate our relationship with God,what has transpire between you and God,the owner of the universe, the almighty God whom I believe to be living up there in heaven.
I have said it earlier that my words are beyond interpreting it by just the word alone but by deep thinking of the words. Are thinking of possible ways to reconcile with the person up there looking at us all from heaven? Dont think too far,I already have a way out for you. Darkness: The obstacle from day one
We all are familiar to the definitions of darkness and I don't think there will be need for definitions,but I think a little reminder will go a long way.
Scientifically,darkness is the complete absence of visible light energy consisting of photonic particles ( physical realm) while in the spiritual realm,darkness symbolizes evil, negative,sin,immortality etc.
My topic goes along with the spiritual realm which is what I will be focusing all my attention on and if at all I want to divert to the scientific part,it won't be much at all.
Darkness has been our day one dude right from inception,sorry to use that word. Right from the day we are formed in our mother's womb,we have been experiencing darkness because we didn't get to see outside the womb and what was happening in the world that we are. That I will refer to has physical from my definitions. And that's why we see a new born baby when they are born,they find it very hard to open their eyes because they have been in darkness for months and never get to witness the present light they are experiencing. If we notice,after some hours or days the baby then start trying to open their eyes,and does that appear to give you a meaning? Is a yes for me and that's the power of light.
Immediately after landing on this earth and they were welcome to this world,from that point has darkness started work upon their life spiritually. We were born into sin and into the wicked world which show the presence of darkness right from the day we were born. Darkness has been the storm that has directed our path wrongly,and this has been happening right from day one which was why the topic says "it has been our obstacle from day one".
The big question now remains how do we move out from this darkness? How do we escape from darkness? Hmmmm,should the company in charge of electricity turn on the street light or our house light so that darkness can disappeared and light can glow all around? I laugh,am sure that is not what you are thinking.
The picture and the caption depict a lot about darkness and bondage. When we are in darkness,we are in bondage. How do we now intend escaping darkness?
BELIEVE
What are we meant to believe? Believe in the word of the lord which says in John 3:16
" For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son,that whosoever believe in him,will not perish but have everlasting life". Believe that jesus died for us all because of our sin ( darkness). Immediately we believe,we will escape from darkness and light will come our way. Believe that he is your lord and personal saviour only by that you can be saved.
DWELL
what are we to dwell in? Dwell in God's word every day and night. Meditate on it,live your life in it,stay in it. The bible says in the book of joshua 1 vs 8 that
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night,that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written there in,for then thou shalt make your way prosperous,and then thou shalt have good success". Constant reading of the bible open your blind eyes affected with darkness to light,is only then you can escape from darkness
BE THE DOER OF THE WORD
Live accordingly to what you have read from the scriptures which is the bible. Learn to behave like christ,walk like christ,speak like christ. Behave well in way that will please God. Portray what you have written from the bible. Don't just be the hearer of the word only but the doer .
To wrap it all,never should you forget that jesus called us the salt and light of the world. We are the light of the world and we must show the world our light. Take a bold step today that from today I will start portraying my light to the world." Light is life".

Popular saying are those words that are mostly used and acceptable base on its long use of existence,and have also gain credibility base on it's long use or tradition. It can be in the form of an adage,proverbs etc. I will personally include slangs .
Various popular saying that are wrong and why they are
"What will become will become":
Most People do interpret it has whatever is destined to happen for one will surely happen. Over the years I have thought over this and has brought into conclusion that it wrong to an extent. For example,a vision was reveal to you about yourselves that you will be rich and famous,and there you are,you are jobless and not making any progress about getting anyone rather you choose to be idle and roaming the streets all about,and pokenosing to what you are not concern with. How will such a person become rich and famous in one night?
This is not possible at all and proof the saying a wrong one.
" Three generations can't experience poverty ":
I burst into laughter whenever I hear this words. More than three generations have experience poverty over the years due to their negligence and lack of creativity. This statement is very wrong and should never be spoken again. In a situation where all the generations all put their head in one basket or they all sleep in one direction,I don't think nothing good can be the outcome expect more poverty in the blood. If the family can't be productive or work out of their comfort zones,no miracle will happen and the generations to come will experience worse case.
"Twenty children can't play for twenty years":
What If it is a situation where twenty friends comes together to build themselves an estate or other type of buildings that can accommodate them putting in minds their wives and children welfare. So after that they begin to reproduce and all of them trained their children well and create a god relationship among their children. For twenty years is possible that their children attend same school,grow up together and graduate together too. So I will be glad to tell you that is possible twenty children can play for twenty years.
"A patient dog eat the fattest bone":
This doesnt work out all the time,so I can specifically say it's wrong to some extent. There are cases where patience doesnt solve things unless you turn it to rough ( sorry to use that word),but am sure you understand what I am trying to say. The phrase is correct to some point but in some situations it doesn't.
"50/50 no cheating":
This has always being my concerned over the years because one thing I dislike is cheating. Cheating someone beside me makes me feel uncomfortable and livid. Back to 50/50 no cheating,did u know 49.5,49.6,49.7,49.8,49.9 can all be rounded up to 50,while 50.1,50.2,50.3,50.4 can be rounded up to 50 too to make a whole number. In a case where something is to be shared between two people,one person might be given 49.5 while the other might be given 50.4 if thorough investigation is been carried out on it. For the person who collect the 50.4 share is having an advantage over the person who collected 49.5,which is a cheating on him,but we all see it as 50/50 no cheating by just mere eyes and ordinary idea. This is really wrong and need to be look into.
NB: All what have written are from inspiration of boredom and I never said those adage/ proverb don't have their deep meaning,they do. I only gave it a mere interpretation by mere looking at the words😇😇😇.

My pandemic experience
It happens that before the pandemic, I was still in school busy with my normal school activities when we started hearing rumours or news about Corona virus. Although school was on strike which started like 3days before then,but student were still on campus,I mean in their various hostels hoping the strike maybe call off soon,but it never happened when the rumours of Corona virus started becoming real. Firstly , we heard it has entered Nigeria, that a certain Chinese man brought it down here and has been hospitalized . The hospital where he was attended to was close to my school,at that point,everybody was scared,and I personally wasn't that scared though but a little bit did. Not long after the news,our school then pass a news to all its student that we all should evacuate the hostels till further notice. We all thought the evacuation will only last for like two weeks,so we only pack few of our things from the hostel and left. This was around april ending if I can remember vividly.
I got home in the evening after I left with my friends from the hostel. We all departed to our various houses having the mind that we will all see after some weeks. The next day j got home was the day we started hearing there will be a temporary lockdown to all Nigerians and so we all should gather all what will last us during the lockdown. It was temporary at first because it was a seven days lockdown. So my family and I went to the market,bought food stuffs and all even though we never had enough to buy due to unexpected circumstances,but we did the best we can.
Stay at home and be safe was the song on everyone lips then across all the social media,television stations,radio stations and all. Nose mask and hand sanitizer was also introduced to us,so we started using them all.
The first seven days of lockdown wasn't easy for us all because we have never experienced such at all. I,personally was bored and their are time we have to skip lunch food all because we are trying to manage the food stuff and money since we aren't going to work . At that time,other countries were under lockdown too,so is not only in Nigeria.
It happens that during that lockdown,my brothers,my neighbour and I was always playing multiplayer of the popular football game called Dream League⚽️⚽️. It was so interesting because we all want to show our skills and ability to play well within ourselves to the extent that we give ourselves ranking. My senior brother was the five star general,follow by my neighbour, four star general,surprisingly I was the three star general. There are times,the game changes that we that are at the top is beaten for that day and they make jest of us saying we dont worth those ranking. Those days were fun because we get to know each other well and we catch cruise very well while playing the game,we do start playing early in the morning till night or when our batteries are drain out.
What I learnt during the pandemic
During the pandemic was when graphic designs online tutorial was going and was trending consistently then,so I was lucky to view a status and saw the link to join the group chat on whatsapp where the training will take place. I learnt graphic designing using various app like canvas,pixellab etc.
After learning graphic design, then I saw another online tutorial to learn how to create animation videos using Plotagon. I learnt that too and I did series of work for people on their birthday and some funny video. It was around that time I learn 3D designing too. My pandemic experience was really nice and can't be forgotten. After series of lockdown which lasted for almost a year, my school then call on us to resume an online class,which was what I did till we wrote our semester exam.
That's how my pandemic holiday was spent judiciously. Like I have said in my previous post that I write words that are beyond mere interpretation. I will drop one before I go so that you can think around it " life is like a party rice,you can't get enough",thinkit is actually deep with deep interpretation.
Who is Gaftek?
I'm a being like every other person on this platform,even though you are expecting me to say am an undergraduate of the great prestigious school known as university of lagos, school of first choice. To those that can relate or aware of my school to be the best in Nigeria. Our general slogan goes thus,

It is rendered with a great enthusiasm and passion. I am presently studying quantity surveying as a course under the faculty of environmental sciences with a current level of 300. All what have written is what you all expected me to write about myself,but there are much to that. I am a happy boy that doesn't quarrel with anybody even though you upset me,I just find everything funny which has always being part of me and has helped me grow over the years. I am not good at writing but I love writing, and not just writing. I write deep things that you can't interpret with mere interpretation but with a deep thinking. Those write up might look stupid,sorry to say but they are more meaning to it than being stupid with mere eyes. So I have a particular saying after every write up of my deep thinking which include any of these; " think towards it, think around it,think forward beyond it,etc". I must have a over introduce myself which I know I haven't,hmmm.
How come Gaftek?
Do I need to tell u guys my name,should I?, let me just do that. I am Tekelu Adeyemi Gafar by name. I hail from Lagos state in Nigeria, am a lagosian. Gaftek was coined from the first three letter from Gafar and the first three letter from Tekelu. Gaf and Tek,combined together to give GAFTEK, even though the reason for the name at first was because during my secondary school,I do some rap music by dropping punchlines and all.

Expectations for joining this platform?
Like I have said before,i don't know how to write but I love writing, writing deep things beyond mere interpretation. All these makes me happy. Doing what makes you happy is the first bold step to success and this will always be a driven goal for everyone. I expect to be more happy and meet new people apart from the tips that will be added for writing. Happiness is key and I want to be happy.
I should wrap this up by giving you guys one of my deep words for you to think about for the night till you receive my next post. " life is like a relationship, what's at the back of the words relationship? Ship,hmmm,it will capsize. Think towards it.
