At an older age, should I look for a secure job? When I divorced, my daughter was 7 years old, she was deeply affected and, from being an exemplary girl at school, she began to have difficulties, she was rebellious and did not want to do homework, at that moment I made a decision that everyone considered unwise, I quit my job from 8 to 5, and started to work on my own, to be able to pick up my daughter from school and do homework with her and take her to karate, tennis, soccer and all sport she decided for practicing that day on. My income was reduced and, were inconsistent, I had to learn to manage myself as if I were a Master in economics and finance, many times I did not sleep thinking that I did not have to pay for electricity or others, and I did not want any service to be cut off, that would have prompted Dad to say that I wasn't able to take over and take custody of me. I never had money to spare, but we never stopped eating or stayed in the dark. Today all that journey turned out well, she is a focused, entrepreneurial woman, graduated from medical school and does not stop by anything, she grew up with a solid self-esteem. After she no longer required to return my constant attention, I tried again and again to work in a company with fixed hours, because of my “age” I could no longer get good jobs, and then I began to do whatelse was presented, it did not last more than 2 years. Of course, I judge myself to be fickle, I want a secure income, but when I begin to be imprisoned for so many hours in a job that I generally don't love, and which also pays little, I tell myself that it is like agreeing to be a slave. When I feel like I am running out of ideas to earn money on my own, then I think I should give up those thoughts and find a secure job. Every day I ask myself if I am wrong for look a secure income, but without having to give all my time to those who do not value it. Photo Mikhail Nilov in Pexels #RandomThoughts
