My life story

I was born on 16th October 1991. In Philippines. I was born pretty much the same as you and the others in the world. But just a few years after I was born, life took a turn for me. You see as a young child, I had a high fever that did not subside for two days. Back then, the medical facilities in philippines were not top notch. I was taken to a doctor, who examined me and gave me an abnormal shot of penicillin. Here was the twist, I was allergic to penicillin by birth and this shot started an adverse reaction in my body Instead of slowing the fever down, it accelerated it and as I was lying on my left side, my right arm and right leg got swollen very badly. This continued for a day and my parents took my to another doctor. This guy examined me and declared that I was dead! And the hospital promptly processed my dead body and moved me to the mortuary. I regained consciousness there. It took a while for my parents to arrange the money to claim my dead body. When they came and claimed me, they realized that I was alive, after exchanging a few choice words with the doctor, they hurried me to another specialist! This specialist examined me and told m parents that I have become a vegetable and raising me was useless, he told them to try for other children and leave me in some orphanage. My parents decided that come what may, they will raise me and they did. Till date my right limbs don't work. I went to a school where till I was 7, I was crawling on my knees, after that due to my high marks, the school sanctioned a scholarship and a charitable trust called Andhra Mahila Sabha sponsored a surgery that helped me to stand up and walk upright. It took a year for me to start walking and I decided to be somebody in life. Today I am not a rockstar, but I am a post graduate software engineer with almost two decades of work experience and a happy family. I also have an average social media presence! Looking back, that one moment when my parents decided to raise me changed my life and I am forever in their debt for that. There goes my story!
