A majestic building located in the heart of the old city is undoubtedly The Bacardi Building. Considered the highest of those of its time, it stands out for its peculiar veneer in natural granite, terracotta and pressed bricks. The main entrance hall is decorated in wine red marble. Commissioned by the Ribera Bacardí S.A company, this luxurious building shone since 1930 as an Art'Deco jewel in our city. In it, he established the presidency of the company on the island and the rest functioned as offices leased to other companies operating on the island. At the beginning of the Revolution, foreign companies left the country and the government nationalized the building. In the 90s it underwent a remodeling that restored its splendor. Today he works as a local landlord for companies that operate in Cuba. -------------------- Una majestuosa edificación localizada en el corazón de la ciudad antigua lo es sin dudas El Edificio Bacardí. Considerado el más alto de los de su época resalta por su peculiar enchape en granito natural, terracota y ladrillos prensados. El salón principal de entrada esta decorado en mármol de color rojo vino. Encargado por la compañía Ribera Bacardí S.A, este lujoso edificio brilló desde el 1930 como una joya del Art'Deco en nuestra ciudad. En el radicó la presidencia de la compañía en la isla y el resto funcionó como oficinas arrendadas a otras empresas que operaban en la isla. A inicios de la Revolución las empresas extranjeras abandonan el país y el gobierno nacionaliza el edificio. En los años 90 fue sometido a una remodelación que le devolvió su esplendor. Hoy se desempeña como local arrendador por compañías que operan en Cuba.
